* The bold marked driver names are the ones that got updated compared to my previous all-in-one post.
** I would recommend the program wushowhide to disable auto update on the intel graphics driver and i highly recommend O&O ShutUp10++ to disable all the spyware/telemetry Microsoft added in Windows 10/11.

!!!!IMPORTANT NOTE!!!!

Since i started to use Pop! OS (Linux) on my MSI Crosshair B12UGSZ i do not need any windows drivers anymore, which means i will (probably) not update this topic anymore to add newer drivers.

Realtek audio delay fix.

You can fix this by using the regedit function and search for "ConservationIdleTime" or "PerformanceIdleTime" or "IdlePowerState". Check the left tab if it says realtek.

You will see this:
View attachment 184822

* My realtek is located under 0001, it is possible yours is stored under 0002, 0003 or another number.
2. Click on PowerSettings and change the values (old to fixed ones)

Old value:

Fixed audio:

3. Reboot!

** If you want to use a .reg file, just save it. don't forget to change the values to your own.

Backup:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001\PowerSettings]
"ConservationIdleTime"=hex:05,00,00,00
"PerformanceIdleTime"=hex:05,00,00,00
"IdlePowerState"=hex:03,00,00,00

Fixed audio:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001\PowerSettings]
"ConservationIdleTime"=hex:ff,ff,ff,ff
"PerformanceIdleTime"=hex:ff,ff,ff,ff
"IdlePowerState"=hex:00,00,00,00

Last thing, after every audio update you have to redo the steps posted above. If you update realtek, intel smartsound technology or the nahimic drivers you have to redo it.

a new follow-up on this: the Realtek sound delay reg fixes are only required for audio driver versions from 6.0.9601.1 to 6.0.9724.1.
they are not needed for versions older than 6.0.9601.1 and newer versions after 6.0.9724.1. at first I thought they would get fixed with the 6.0.9724.1 & 6.0.9718.1 versions from MSI but it turned out that I was mistaken; they were "not" fixed in those versions.
the "ConservationIdleTime" & "PerformanceIdleTime" values have been corrected/fixed starting with version 6.0.9727.1 (from MS Update) and with the MSI released driver versions like 6.0.9735.1 (in which 9735 is no longer available from MSI), 6.0.9738.1 & 6.0.9744.1.

Well if it is fixed or not, it’s kinda bullshit it took them so long to fix it in the first place. Took them over 2,5 years for a simple fix. I noticed the delays with driver 93xx, you are now at 97xx release.

I am happier by the day when i made the switch to Pop OS…everything works out of the box and i have zero issues.

I'm confused? I've installed soooooo many Realtek Audio updates. But only sum werk? Delayed response, no audio.
I guess I missed out on this one, but ALL the other MS bullxxxx made up for it. Delay this not that.
My latest feel good was , while I was a the MS Store I updated some more MS junk, Notepad was involved.
2 days later .txt files in the Documents folder could no longer be edited. Here I go again, what did I do ?
Cause I mess with a lot. It turned out to be "Controlled Folder Access" WTH? So, MS is blocking their own Notepad update from "their store".
I quit, right the "F" now, beforehand I reset the cache then all data in Notepad, lost my fonts & spellcheck info.
But, butt where's AI ? AI + Microsoft = a deadly weapon of destruction , I see this outcome.
Controlled Folder Access, was now promptly turned off. I Absolutely found nothing about this on the net, oh MS website claimed : "Your computer must have a virus, yeah it's called MS mental illness & we're here to please. Note: this took 2 days to rear it's head.
Pretty soon I will have unchecked most of their so-called "junk" protection services.
What I have a little worry about is installing a new install of 24H2, MSI has no fan control in Bios. Windows "turbo mode" install is like, but we burnt yours real fast, right & that's what counts? Buy another laptop & try again.

Realtek Audio - 6.0.9738.1 (released for most MSI desktop motherboards but may also work on certain laptop/AIO desktop pcs)

like with the previous 9735 & 9724 drivers, the "Realtek audio delay" reg fixes are no longer necessary

this MSI MB audio driver has been recently updated from 6.0.9738.1 to version 6.0.9757.1 as of Fri. Nov. 22 (same download link but new version)

again, like with any driver version released from 6.0.9727.1 onwards, the "Realtek audio/sound delay" registry fixes are not needed anymore

I preferno manufacturer or product -- just want objective, logical and clear understanding. To install drivers on this website is extremely difficult in comparison ASUS in my opinion . Support people have been extremely arrogant again in my opinion. Why? There is clearly is no need for this! MSI's products seem to be on par or superior to others. So why does it seem like forever to load drivers?

What do you mean by this ? Updating drivers is not taking forever. If you mean to update the device page, MSI never updates that one. Only provide launch drivers.

That is the reason why i created/started this topic, so people can stay up-to-date if they want. But since i moved on to Linux i don’t check it much anymore. Linux has this handled pretty well in their kernel(s).

Most likely he is comparing Asus Live Update with MSI Live Update, instead of downloading directly from your page.

The MSI center also offers outdated drivers, if msi live update does the same then yeah i would understand. Never used msi live update though.

Me either, but many just want an app that does everything for them, instead of doing it manually.

I installed the 6.0.9727.1 on my MSI Katana 17 B13V to fix my random audio stuttering problem. The registry fix didn't work for me. After the new version, the new drivers were properly installed but nothing could be played anymore, like if the audio device was "not ready". Not even the test sound from Sound properties windows in Control panel - "couldn't play test sound".
I uninstalled the driver, restarted several times and windows 11 installed automatically the old version 6.0.9481.1 and the stuttering is back.
It's interesting that the random stuttering is there even if I play using external DAC connected via USB or via bluetooth headphones.
A google search led me here to this thread...

If you install the realtek audio driver it will wipe all other audio drivers.

1. Install the latest realtek audio driver, reboot when the installer says so
2. Install nahimic
3. Install Intel® Smart Sound Technology drivers

All drivers can be found a few posts up

"I switched to 24H2 2 days ago and so far everything is working 100% (y) Me too, someday soon?
Now that I totally shutdown Win Updates on both my laptops, both have never run better !
So, yes I will eventually install 24H2 but on different SSD's. I'll be saving what I have because I just don't trust Windows, my form of a backup.
Captain Kirk, -- I "just want objective, logical and clear understanding". Huh? Good luck with dat. Sure everyone could use Spock now & then, but Spock has unfortunately has left the building. Logic? Far over rated when updating a computer. It's better to use "learned" knowledge.
But , but ,but, darn that stuttering is coming back. What ,what ,what, is that like?
1st & ALWAYS foremost make sure to have ALL the needed latest version audio files downloaded eg... Intel/Realtek/Nahimic. Turn off your internet access.
This way one could effectively uninstall all audio drivers if needed, then reboot & re-install them all (in the correct order without Window's interference.
Make sure Windows anti-virus is not removing your newly installed drivers too, via file & folder protection aka Controlled Folder Access.
Personally I never had the audio delay issues nor any stuttering issues (except when I get real mad) on either of my MSI laptops.
I almost never do audio driver update restarts, that's because I never ever use the audio .exe installers except for once in awhile using the Nahimic restore tool when needed & yes it will ask for a restart.
Mek7, "the new drivers were properly installed but nothing could be played anymore". Hint, no they did not install properly. Cause if they were installed properly everything/audio would function as it's was intended.
MichelN86, "If you install the realtek audio driver it will wipe all other audio drivers." Using Realtek's "setup.exe" installer.
One will end up with no sound until ALL the other removed audio components that were uninstalled by Realtek setup.exe are re-installed. Nahimic & Intel.
Thanks for the updates MichelN86!
