Do you enable coolerboost with this ?

I usually just run the default 'Smart AI' setting in MSI Center with it to let the computer decide when it is necessary. When playing Starfield, I will usually set the cooling pad to around 800-1200 RPM (the range of this cooling pad is from 300 RPM which is almost completely silent, all the way up to 2800 RPM which is extremely loud). On idle I keep it at 300 RPM at all times, including when using an internet browser or doing small tasks.

I wonder if you will like it or not and if you find it hard to setup a game and other stuff. Please let us know.
Well my first attempt to use POP! OS, was not a success, failed to initialize from the OS on a USB NVMe SSD (WD SN570 1TB) missing kernel error, before even a post.
So I thought I would delve into the BIOS, I disabled Secure Boot, Fast Boot, made sure TB was enabled as BOOT, verified BOOT sequence and tried TB3 (USB-C) and USB-A ports.
I could now see POP! OS initial post screen, so I thought it solved the issue, but once I attempt to go further, again same missing kernel error.
I guess it don't like my GS65, ah well I will try next holiday, if time is available, since for the next months, my weekends are pretty much full.

Well I guess Smart AI is better than Auto Fan, that it replaced, because Auto Fan was useless, the temperatures would always be hot, I always would use COOLER BOOST when gaming,
when doing other stuff, I just tailored the fan settings to my liking, of course I always have my laptops on stands, I even got foldable ones for when I travel.
For my laptops that are with HDMI on an external, I use a fix stand that gives a rise of about 3.5'' or 9cm, the others are on foldable stand with a rise of 1.5'' or 4cm.
GP68HX, GP66, GE66, P65, GE72 fix stand, all the others foldable stand.

1. Did you download the nvidia iso or the "normal" one ?.
Nvidia
2. Did you verify the iso ? (hash check)
Since I downloaded directly from their website, I didn't https://pop.system76.com
3. What program did you use to flash to usb ?, i would recommend rufus.
I will do RUFUS instead next time, thanks!
Good!

Pop! OS 24.04 on a 11 years old HP Pavilion G7-2310ED notebook, today received updates and it's almost fully translated.

Drek4, said well I'm holding off for now updating to 24H2. I will concur that is a best choice. For gamers, nuttin but poblanos. I also will pass. The analogy everything gets better with age, does not apply to Windows. If MS could only utilize a teeny tiny portion of the Ai they want to shove down their customer's throats. I'm 100% sure the Ai could fix Windows., cause MS can't.
Almost one year for me when 23H2 implementing Windows hidden turbo mode burned out my 1st GL76 trying to force-feed 23H2. This has a direct connection with me upgrading my Raider A18HX. Silly me, I put away 4 drives that tried to get this wannabe gaming laptop /GL76 working again. Unfortunately there is no SSD that can fix a well-toasted CPU. Nor should I have stored these drives without 1st WIPING any/all data on them. AOMEI proceeded to clone to corrupted partitions on my latest attempt. 990 Pro had 3 hours 105 restarts, yet pooched it was.
Well, I had to see if it could be saved, 3 days later I found out by accident how to save it. Bad boot partition. 1st day MSI in bios & in Chinese it gave 2 options, neither one was correct. The 2nd option MSI put the boot sector to the 4TB drive, WTH? Because the 2TB OS drive had a bad boot sector, unwritable. I got a taste though & low & behold it did boot up. After I deleted the boot sector that was on the wrong drive (4TB), it no longer would boot up. It took me 2 more days to fix it & have the boot sector on the 2TB OS drive. Maybe I should of used Samsung Magician to clone instead, next time. I have at least 3 more SSD drives that were used to try to get that GL76 running before I finally the realized the processor was bad. Last year, I didn't find that much on the internet about Intel/MSI laptop processors being well-toasted.
So I will not be going to 24H2 anytime soon, cloned my 23H2 MSI/AMD A18HX & it's next OS will be Pop OS.
Finally installed my 96 GB of DDR 5 ram, a new/slightly used Samsung 990 PRO 2TB SSD drive for the OS & a new Samsung 990 Pro 4TB drive for running games. I figured I saved about $ 600 or more not purchasing it this way. Well the company didn't offer it this way. It was either with 2 2TB drives or 2 4 TB drives. Games are so big these days 4TB drives are a better choice for the gaming drive. I didn't see me needing 4TB for running the OS.
I still use Realtek & Nahimic on this one for now, until I move over to Pop OS. Of course the other 2 Intel MSI's use just about all the updates posted here. Thanks MichelN86 !
Who knows, maybe tomorrow I can finally start installing games.
Note, MSI Center/Mystic light does nothing on this computer, no changes in how it displays the keyboard/case lighting, nothing. Now they call it Ambient lighting? Still nothing.

Once bitten twice shy, when they pulled a fast one on us with 22H2, I always do a very extensive search of drawbacks of major changes with MS.

I prefer have more laptops with 2x 2TB, but if a single slot for serious gaming, 4TB is a must.

You have to go with the Steel Series APP.
Beware of the Sonar in it, it's very crappy, had to recheck my default audio and change back everything, it disabled the sound on all my laptops after an update.

My newly installed Firefox blinked & my post for here was all gone, WTH? Maybe it's back to Opera? At least it was saved when using Opera.
Anyway, Mystic Light /Ambient light & Steel Series app ALL gone, deleted. Useless junk in the trunk.
After a restart the keyboard/case lighting stayed the same, cause Mystic light/Ambient light was as useless as the Steel Series "please buy from me app". This brings me back to the 15" 10th Gen MSI, cause Mystic light was useless there too. That is where I found out Mystic light has it's own uninstaller. I didn't buy this laptop for a fancy/Nancy keyboard lighting, but it really didn't have it either.
So I still have some Realtek audio to clean up. After going into the Registry, 366 useless extensions are listed all over the place.
My only choice is to use it's uninstaller, which will most likely remove/break Nahimic & AMD audio.
If it doesn't remove those useless extensions in the Registry, ....I have I a back plan, it's called a fresh ISO install.
My question is why does the Realtek LAN installer work/repair so good yet the Realtek audio .exe is complete garbage.
This is why I never use the Realtek Audio InstallShield/exe installer. To me it is just a Junk in the trunk installer.
That's ok I have been here before with Realtek audio breaking the audio, this time is no different than before.

* The bold marked driver names are the ones that got updated compared to my previous all-in-one post.
** I would recommend the program wushowhide to disable auto update on the intel graphics driver and i highly recommend O&O ShutUp10++ to disable all the spyware/telemetry Microsoft added in Windows 10/11.

!!!!IMPORTANT NOTE!!!!

Since i started to use Pop! OS (Linux) on my MSI Crosshair B12UGSZ i do not need any windows drivers anymore, which means i will (probably) not update this topic anymore to add newer drivers.
Since this is from Microsoft Update Catalog what makes you think that this compatible at all with MSI laptops (specifically in this case)? If they were you'd get the update via Windows Update. I don't get how this are comaptible with your or any MSI laptop considering a lot of them are for desktop motherboards from other manufacturers and not even for any brand of laptops. The best way to prove this is installing your DTT and IPF drivers breaks the Intel application optimization losing access to this feature while in device manager they appear to be working correctly (they're not meant for a laptop motherboard lol)

If only MSI did care and pushed updates through their absolutely useless driver page, people wouldnt be seeking desesperate measures to keep their drivers up to date

You can find your hardware id in the device manager and put the hardware id in muc. Then you see the updated files. Windows update did not update my drivers, because i blocked it and wanted to control that my self.

Where did you see me write “compatible at all with msi laptops” ?

Your not forced to use the drivers i post. You can always stick with the outdated drivers MSI shares 😮‍💨. This topic is “mostly” meant for the MSI Crosshair 15/17 B12 units.

But please, can you troll somewhere else. Thanks!

Open the .inf files and check how many deviceid’s are in there. You can find your device id in the device manager.

Windows update does not always update the drivers, at least not for me.

I'm not gonna even bother. You do you but for anyone checking on this driver to update your same laptop model or any other, they should be aware that the ''updated'' drivers you link are not actually meant for their laptops but for certain desktop motherboards. There's a reason they're shipped via Windows Catalog and not displayed for you: they don't go along with your hardware

Clearly you are to stupid to understand how things works. It’s oké…

I did my research before i made this topic. I compared the msi drivers with the microsoft update catalog (same version and same hashes). Maybe you should do the same before spitting nonsense over here.

That said…

As for all other who “appreciated” my work i would say thank you for the great support for 1,5 years. It’s hard for me to say this but i am permanently stopping to support and maintain this topic.

Goodbye all 👋🏻

I think its your 20th edit man, are the tears coming out or not yet? Your repo is literally drivers from desktop motherboards, that's a fact you cant change. Another fact: they dont work in laptops. Now proceed to make 20 edits because you're getting emotional over someone pointing out you're in the wrong.

Wow man, just wow. I have NEVER had any problems installing the updates MichelN86 has posted here. Me & both my MSI/Intel laptops say many thanks, MichelN86!
For desktops? Could be, do I care? Nope! But never the less they all have been working like a champ in both laptops! MSI Thin 10th Gen & MSI GL76 12th Gen.
Comaptible? What does that mean? Compatible (spell check is your friend), you mean these Intel updates will work my new MSI/AMD laptop? Like that kind of compatibility?
MichelN896 don't let some bozo the clown get you down, not worth it my friend. God knows there's plenty o-jerks on the net.
Clue, here's how this works, if the updates that are listed/posted here taint working for you, there's a whole wide world of the internet to get yourself lost in.
Not a happy camper? Ah. But hey, if your soooooo smart find some MSI laptop driver updates & post em here.

drek4 said: "I prefer have more laptops with 2x 2TB, but if a single slot for serious gaming, 4TB is a must." Single slot? Oh no Mr Bill, no single slot drives for me!
Well from what I read on a gaming website, one will get better performance with their computer if games are installed & run from the 2nd drive, off the "OS" drive.
This sounds like a very good working idea to me. Now I can't say if it really works, but this is exactly what I'm doing.
This is why I called my 4TB drive my gaming drive, because this is where my games will be installed & run from. Now I can state that some games still use your OS drive for info,
saved games &/or some game data etc... But I am doing this strictly for performance & to me it makes sense. If games were not getting so yuge I Shirley would stay with 2 TB drives.
But hey, ask Mikey/MichelN86, he has a 4 TB drive & I thought to myself, why not. drek4 ask MichelN86 why he bought one. A completely different reason, maybe?
Note, but is it really a 4TB drive, cause in Device Manager Windows "Display Name" is a Samsung SSD 990 PRO 2TB, but in it's Bus reported description a Samsung SSD 990 PRO 4TB. WTH?

Well I put the SteelSeries GG app back in, sumday I'll play with it sum more, because for the GG app being almost 1 gig in size it better do sumtin.
1st find will be, where the heck is the brightness setting? Keyboard is so dim, yet I can not find any brightness control.

MichelN86 your the man & your updates ALWAYS worked for me, God bless you & have a very happy new year!

Where did you land on planet Earth from ?
Wake up..
This topic is legendary not only for driver updates, but also for helping other !!!

So after reinstalling the SteelSeries GG it was back to a nuttin burder. Keyboard is so dim you can't even see what it's doing.
SteelSeries app has nothing about dimming & brightness of the keyboard/case lighting, = 2 thumbs down. on that one.
On the brighter side MSI fixed a Bios update that was erroring out.
"Failure to update the SBAT value in FW". Problem is related to a recent Firmware update, hopefully now fixed.

Next, how to rename a miss-named device in Device Manager.
Mine was the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB (D) drive. It was shown as Samsung 990 Pro 2TB.
Open Device Manager, go to the device that need to be renamed.
Got to it's properties page\Details (Tab)\Device Description, scroll down to "Driver key"
Copy that driver key.
Open Registry Editor, go to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum
Use Edit, use "Find" & paste that driver key into the Find What box, hit the find next button.
If there’s a value named “FriendlyName”, double-click to edit. If not, right-click, choose “New” > “String Value”, and name it “FriendlyName”. Double-click your new “FriendlyName” value.

Correct the name.
There, boom! Fixed. (This worked for me).

If only everything was that easy to fix with Windows, of course, it is not.

Have a great weekend to everyone visiting here!

no such issue with the Realtek Audio InstallShield setup.exe installer under Win10 22H2 & Win11 RTM/21H2 as it works just fine on those versions.
maybe it sometimes work like crap on recent Win11 versions like 23H2 & 24H2
the realtek audio driver (NB) packages for msi laptops have a slightly edited/modded setup.ini file than the audio driver package for desktop motherboards (MB)

This topic is “mostly” meant for the MSI Crosshair 15/17 B12 units.

and possibly for other sized MSI Crosshair laptops like Crosshair 16 and the upcoming Crosshair 18 HX AI (18 inch) laptop, which I saw one of the pics on this page.

@ erpman15ac02e2: well thanks for the heads up & 2 thumbs up it works for you.
But not for me😭.
The Intel laptops "OS" I have, one is 21H2/GL76 & 22H2/GF 65 Thin 10SDR.
If I use the Realtek audio "InstallShield" .exe it will remove/break other audio components, on both! The GL76, breaks Intel Smart Sound components & Nahimic. The GF 65 it breaks Nahimic only because it has no Intel Smart Sound.
My work around this breakage. I learn what each one needs & install Realtek audio only thru the ".inf" files. That = no more breakage of audio. None!
My GF65 was so bad when I 1st learned this, I had to use System Restore to get any audio back. After uninstalling everything audio related & reinstalling audio components it was still broken.
Only after finally using System Restore the audio was working. Why, Realtek .exe installer will install hundreds of useless extensions that will break audio. My new MSI AMD had 369 Realtek extensions installed in it. Of those only 3 worked on the AMD. Go to Github, download Rapr.exe. It will tell you how many are installed on your system. All 3 of my MSI laptops use Realtek audio. I know exactly what Realtek audio ".inf's" to install on each one. Yes & all 3 are different inf's.
What knowledge does this give me?
That my audio will never ever be broken again, on All 3 laptops. Some people mistakenly blame this on Nahimic. Nope!
It's all Realtek audio & the exe installer they use.
The Realtek LAN installer/updater goes right to "Repair". Updates your LAN driver, no muss no fuss. Big difference.
This is why there is a audio update rule when updating audio drivers, Realtek 1st, then Intel Smart Sound then Nahimic.
I no longer have to follow that rule & say thank you.
By updating only thru the .inf's, Intel & Realtek, I can update ANY component at any time & nothing is broken, even Nahimic. But hey, what do I know?
No moe broken audio is the correct answer.
Crosshair? MichelN86 said he left the building. But it's all relative/related.
MSi laptops, one driver for all, amen.
