that's good.

but I used the recently released GenericNahimicRestoreTool.exe tool from this Nahimic support page, and it bundled Nahimic APO4 driver version 4.12.5.0 instead of 4.12.4.0 (and includes version 1.10.4.0 of the Nahimic UWP app)

think its your 20th edit man, are the tears coming out or not yet?
Your a child really, why are you posting in this topic ? i am not crying i am just done with you! you clearly have no brains in your head because your to stupid to see and understand that notebook and desktop are using the same drivers. I am not going to waste my time on you anymore, but your post did make it easier for me to leave. I don't use Windows anymore, the last 5-6 months i kept this topic alive for "other users" who appreciated it. I moved on to Linux and i will stay on linux. I am not going to waste my time here and get slapped in my face by your ridiculous comments.

Get a live, find a women and grow up!

I have just caught up on this conversation. Don't let one person drive you away. There are countless more people here that really appreciate what you have done.

drek4 said: "I prefer have more laptops with 2x 2TB, but if a single slot for serious gaming, 4TB is a must." Single slot? Oh no Mr Bill, no single slot drives for me!
Well from what I read on a gaming website, one will get better performance with their computer if games are installed & run from the 2nd drive, off the "OS" drive.
This sounds like a very good working idea to me. Now I can't say if it really works, but this is exactly what I'm doing.
This is why I called my 4TB drive my gaming drive, because this is where my games will be installed & run from. Now I can state that some games still use your OS drive for info,
saved games &/or some game data etc... But I am doing this strictly for performance & to me it makes sense. If games were not getting so yuge I Shirley would stay with 2 TB drives.
But hey, ask Mikey/MichelN86, he has a 4 TB drive & I thought to myself, why not. drek4 ask MichelN86 why he bought one. A completely different reason, maybe?
Note, but is it really a 4TB drive, cause in Device Manager Windows "Display Name" is a Samsung SSD 990 PRO 2TB, but in it's Bus reported description a Samsung SSD 990 PRO 4TB. WTH?
Well my S14, G14s, only have 1x M.2 NVMe slot, so in thoses cases I agree that 4TB is a must if you want to do serious gaming,
but sadly only one of my G14 has a 4TB, my main laptop for travel, the other G14 and the S14 a 2TB only, 4TB are still a little pricey.
My GP68, GP66 and GE66, have 2x 2TB drives = 4TB, that is mainly what I'm getting at, you can install plenty of games with 4TB.
My other laptops that I use for gaming are all with 2x M.2, from 1.5-3TB total capacity each, the other non gaming ones will be 1-1.5TB each.

I think its your 20th edit man, are the tears coming out or not yet? Your repo is literally drivers from desktop motherboards, that's a fact you cant change. Another fact: they dont work in laptops. Now proceed to make 20 edits because you're getting emotional over someone pointing out you're in the wrong.
Well the drivers posted here worked fine in my laptops, maybe the issue is a code 18, in your case, like 18'' in front of the screen.
Well now thanks to you, I will have to go to the mfg websites to download the drivers, I hope you're satisfied with your trolling here!

Well we were all warned he was leaving. Personally I don't think it was because of a fool.
If one goes backwards, in his posts he has left us with hope. He has given us where he has obtained these different sources for all these updates.
Thank you MichelN86!!!
As with other dedicated forum members will will try, I will also! Where will go, what will you do, This thread, these posts are what it's all about. People helping other people.
This post my friends will live on!
Why? Cause, people helping other people is what it is all about!
Trolls, not everyone is computer literate, so when things go south & oh they will, they complain. Most the time it's who's fault?
I came here & found so many answers about updates & other issues. This is the good place, thank you.
It has help me out so much!!!
My MSI AMD Raider A18HX is in an excellent running state & the help I got here made that possible!
I can not leave out the other 2 "excellent running" MSI laptops, cause they are "both" what brought me here & a big thank you to everyone here!

A superb response—I couldn't have said it better myself. It's one of the best threads in the forum, with a great community. Being here has helped me no end. Hopefully, MichelN86 will pop in from time to time to rally the troops.

If only everyone helped each other, I'm not talking about monetary here, just by helping each other, our race could achieve so very much and live in harmony.
But alas, that is nothing but a naive dream, but we can each do our part to help one another, to at least leave our mark as noble individuals.
I respected very much MichelN86 for the work he did in this forum and the way he left his mark here, as a noble individual.

Generic? It's so much bigger, oh my. 210mb ? Thanks! Yeah , I have 4.12.40. This one Nahimic support page.
Claims it's the latest Nahimic Restore Tool. "GenericNahimicRestoreTool.exe" excuse me only 209 mb.

that's because running the GenericNahimicRestoreTool.exe created a \ProgramData\NahimicRestoreTool\Drivers\ folder on my HDD that includes Nahimic APO3 & APO4 drivers not only for MSI but for other manufacturers like Asrock, Clevo, Gigabyte, Lenovo, Medion, etc. (and bundled the latest available Nahimic UWP app version), hence the 200+Mb size file

I agree, but you always have some trolls that like to create chaos.

if only there was a specific link or button in this MSI forum to "report" a bad post to have it removed like in some other forums...

The ''Report'' link is already there in the bottom left corner, but it will be up to the discretion of the Moderator to decide if removed.

New Intel driver "Arch" display driver 11th Gen & up, was released on 1/15/2025.
Excuse, "Pesedm" I'm blind, forgot my glasses, really blind!
Has anyone heard from MichelN86?
Doess he still have his Pop OS/Linux post here?
Intel website, good for chipset driver, display driver, Bluetooth & WIFI drivers & thats about it.
Any other Intel drivers need to be done thru the Microsoft catalog update site.
Nahimic "Generic " what the Elf ....
thanks, because my 10th Gen got pooched with the latest Realtek audio "Generic/Universal" update, installing the correct Realtek APO killed the audio. Been there, done that (before). I kinda thought that Nahimic would fix it. I might just run the Nahimic APO3 v107 tool. Then the Store & MS update put their latest versions in for A-Volute , Nahimic audio & mirroring device. Lost the "Speakers" in Device Manager. After I uninstalled that latest Realtek audio it/"Speakers" came back.
Anyway, the audio worked with no Realtek audio driver. It went thru a high- definition driver. Actually I think it got pooched awhile back because ' Speakers" have been missing for a couple updates back but still worked so I just ignored it.
Windows, plus the fickel finger of fate = yep broken. But hey nuttin 24H2 can't fix right? Nope, not so fast no goldarn 24H2 for this guy. I'd live any day of the week with "Speakers" miising in Device Manager 1st. I know Nahimic APO3 v107 Restore Tool should fix it 🤞
Thanks for the heads up on what that extra large Nahimic tool puts in, right now I think I'll pass.

MichelN86 had a good system of updating all the Windows and Linux drivers. All drivers are out of date since his last list, and without the system he used, it will become messy posting single driver updates. It's probably why very few drivers have been updated since he left. Everyone should copy all the driver links from page 42 because, realistically, this thread will slowly fizzle out.

Intel has kinda changed their "Arch" display driver updates, for 11th Gen & up. I neglected my GL76 on updates but.....I am working on it.
The last 2 Intel display driver updates are erroring out for me. Where? C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER This is where system crashes go.
Not so much in the Event Viewer. I think this is happening on restarts & boot up. Before these last 2 Intel updates I was never getting these errors.
So I'm stating it here to see if anyone else sees this problem. I was hoping the latest update would correct it, it did not.
I also thought it might be that I am still running 21H2 on this one, but I do not think so. I also do not think this is a major problem, because of when it happens.
Yes, MichelN86's driver page does look & work very well. Maybe a copy & paste might work to edit the info on ? But no one here is the owner of that page, yet.
None the less, I firmly believe in the saying "If there's a will, there's a way". Page 49, I'll start there & see what I can do.
Well, if you copy the post for the Windows drivers part, one can do edits in a new post box. I just tried it. I need to get myself an HTML editor so I can work offline on this.
Next, all we have to do is find the updates.
