@ TheNemeses: best to do some homework. Intel Smart Sound Technology, Intel® Management Engine Interface #1, Intel® Dynamic Tuning Technology, etc... can change with older/newer processors.
But other updates, can be more generic. Example, just like Windows Update issues updates for numerous computers (laptops & desktops) a good portion of the the updates listed here will work the same way. My 1st advice would be learn, use & set System Restore Points. On a learning curve, do a little at a time. Example if one updates everything & problems arise, it will be harder to find which one caused it. Good luck & watch your Event Viewer for any problems.
Now as I talked about problems, on my newer MSI AMD laptop I turned off Windows Security/Device Security/Core Isolation/Memory integrity/Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection & Microsoft Vulnerable Driver blocklist. After updating everything possible I turned those settings back on. Windows rejected my way of updating. None of the 3 can be turned on again. Funny ha, ha. I got my 1st blue screen of death, if you could even see it. The laptop's "Blue Screen of Death" was unreadable. Well, Safe Mode & Shawn Bink's Registry hacks for the 1st 2 (Memory integrity/Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection) saved me. If I remember correctly all 3 of these settings are disabled on all my other laptops for a similar reason, but I never had the Blue Screen of Death until the AMD. There is one more setting that goes with this, Control Panel/Network & Internet/Internet Options/Security tab/Custom/Miscellaneous/Launching applications and unsafe files, set to Enable (not secure). These settings listed are Windows way of stopping one from updating "their" computer except thru Microsoft/Windows Update, cause they have a better way of controlling "your" computer. Sure they do, right? All my laptops have all these settings listed turned off or disabled & no I do not think Microsoft/Windows Update have the better way. My advice is be careful out there, know the websites you visit, download & install from. For me, my only problems have come from Microsoft's own built-in "We own you" security.
A new Intel display driver, that was quick, I didn't even install the prior one. Looks like that was a good choice.
