I am not taking this topic back, you guys are doing it great so thanks for that!. I just registered (again) to let you all know my notebook MSI Crosshair 15 B12UGSZ is still kicking under linux. I did move away from Pop! OS 22.04 and installed EndeavourOS which is a rolling release and you get the latest of the latest updates.

The trick is to regular update the stuff, i checked daily when i started this topic. Since i moved to linux again back in september 2024, i checked it at least once a week for you guys. But since i left the forum i did not check it for once. I didn’t even look back at Microsoft which is a good thing.
 
I will not keep this topic updated as much as i did before, because i am still running Linux after almost a year!. So enjoy it for the time being :)

** Other drivers are build into linux/kernel. The nvidia drivers will be shipped by your distro supplier but most of them don't update at release. If you want to update you can do this manually. Don't ask for tutorials, do some homework!.

** I would recommend the program wushowhide to disable auto update on the intel graphics driver and i highly recommend O&O ShutUp10++ to disable all the spyware/telemetry Microsoft added in Windows 10/11.

Linux even offers firmware upgrades by default. UEFI CA and UEFI dbx got updated twice already on my side. It even recognizes intel management engine. As you can see Linux has grown and you don´t need windows anymore. Windows is 1 big spyware tool.

Nobody restricts to trim it well. Ntlite exist, unattend.xml online editor is awesome. You could crop everything what disturbs your privacy. Thirdparty firewalls is the final part of privacy on the windows.
Also in my experience no need to follow the every new update, at first - reading what ppl say, who likes updates instead stability, then decide upd or not.
Im still on w11 22h2, runs like a charm, smooth and fast. Have no plans to update it yet, cuz every next windows update were trash. Also my drivers list is pretty short and only whql versions, i not installing any driver bloatware like Nashitmic or Intel Graphics center or MSI Center, im not using windows update services, i updating my drivers with Driver Booster once per 2-3month last few years, have had no one driver related issue. I have not seen any significant errors in my windows eventlog, i even did not remember how is BSOD look like on my MSI GF66 XD
So windows is good OS, when you know how to use it proper. :-)

This is not a personal attack or anything BUT windows is for kids who don't know how to use a OS proper + it's breaching alot of your privacy. In linux you have way more freedom and you can customize EVERYTHING without getting spied!. The games you play in windows are working fine on my linux machines, in fact some games run better under linux then it every did on Windows. A sample is jedi survivor, this game had so many problems with the galaxy map in Windows. With linux it ran bloody fast and stable. There are alot of video's online that shows Linux is better with games then Windows. Yes i am aware of anti-cheat stuff games has and yes i know some of those games do not run.

Some drivers (even for my new Raider 18 HX AI A2XWJG) are unique to your laptop, especially the Microsoft drivers. Even the ones MichelN86 kindly provides. Don't go blindly installing every single one without testing. I have spent considerable time troubleshooting problems, simply because it was a generic driver found here, rather than one specifically designed for my machine.

The AI models uses different drivers:
Intel Smart Sound Technology driver - 20.xx.xxxxx.x while older notebooks uses the 10.xx.xxxxx.x version
Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver - 20.x.x.xxxx while older notebooks uses the 10.x.x.xxxx version

All other drivers are pretty much the same.

Intel MVA - 1.0.3473.0

Yes, I was also seeing multiple errors in the event viewer with other Intel® Dynamic Tuning Technology drivers. Even though they all begin with 9..0.......
I see you have posted a new one (the previous driver before this latest one here gave me errors), so I will give this a go. Thanks.

this was briefly listed for certain new MSI laptops on 7/22 but is no longer referenced on the msi site as of 7/23 & later, so this 6.0.9857.1 driver version is now "unlisted"

Driverhub recently has a 6.0.9862.1 hdxmsi.inf codec driver available (for certain older laptops & most desktop motherboards). hdxsstmsi.inf codec driver for 9862 {for most modern Intel cpu based MSI laptop pcs} not yet available though
