MSI Digi vox and Vista 64bit

Hi,

And it doesn't work with Vista 64bit. I can't find a driver for it. The driver on the original cd is not working.
Coudl you help me please?

There is a driver for XP x64, you may be able to use that in Vista:

OK, I've opened up my DigiVOX, and as I suspected, it is in fact a Twinhan VP7045 in a different shell. I have extracted the correct drivers from that archive and attached them here. Download and extract them somewhere on your hard drive, try running the setup program as administrator, or compatibility mode for XP, if that fails manually install the drivers through Device Manager.

I've tried to run the setup but it doesn't work - it doesn't start. I've tried to run as administrator as well but the same problem. Compatibility mode for XP is not allowed (it is grey). So then I've tried to install it through Device Manager and here is the result:

"Update Driver Software - Unknown Device
Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
DTV-DVB USB2 DVB-T BDA adapter
The system cannot find file specified.
If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for the driver software."

In properties there is written: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Hmm, does Vista not automatically find a driver for it then? Have you tried Windows Update?

Does it work in another system?

Failing that, you might want to ask MSI for further assistance on this matter. http://support.msi.com

Unfortunately, I don't have any 64bit OS installed on my systems, so I cannot test myself further.

I sent a messange to support.msi.com 5 minutes ago so I hope that they will answer as soon as possible
If I connect digi vox via USB to my laptop, Vista is finding a driver on-line via Windows Update and it is the same: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). Digi vox is installed but with yellow triangle. It doesn't work as well - it is the same like before
I bought Digi vox 4 years ago and it used to work with my old laptop but I had Windows XP there. I think hardware is ok.
I also have tried to update a driver.. The best driver software for your divice is already installed.

Is your laptop Vista x64 also?

My DigiVOX installs with no problems on Windows 7 32bit, I'd just like to add.

The answer from support.msi.com:
"The Digi VOX chipset vendor doesn't give the chipset driver for Vista 64bit to MSI. So we can't supply the Vista 64 bit driver to you.
We are sorry about it."
I have free upgrade for Windows 7, so I have to wait

As a last resort, you could try this driver from Twinhan:
http://www.twinhan.com/files/AW/BDA%20Driver/Other%20Models/7045_THBDAv1.0.6.3_WHQL.zip

Again, its only a WinXP 64bit driver, but it should be able to work in Vista 64bit also. Probably worth a try before you give up, or why not just switch to a 32bit OS? Unless you're using dedicated 64bit apps, there is no real gain from using a 64bit OS anyway.

Drivers for XP don't work in Vista.  The driver model is different.  There's a chance it could work, but it would be with reduced functionality.

My advice would be:  switch to 32-bit until Windows 7 comes out.

That may be correct, but my old Mustek 1200UB scanner is currently working flawlessly in Windows 7 using Windows XP drivers. There were never any drivers made for Vista for it.

I just installed Windows 7 x64 on my spare hard drive, and I was also unable to install the DigiVOX too.

Guess MSI was right then, you'll either need to switch to 32bit Vista, or find a device with Vista 64bit support.?
