MSI Drivers USB thumb drive not recognized by Windows 11 installer

I have just put together a new PC with the MSI Z690I Unify mini-ITX board.

When I run the Windows 11 installer DVD, it hangs up on missing media drivers. When I put in the "MSI Drivers" thumb drive USB stick that was included with the motherboard, the Windows 11 installer shows the drive, but it will not let me see the contents to select or install the drivers. I can't find any way to mount the drive inside the Windows 11 installer.

Is this a Windows installer problem, or a problem with the MSI thumb drive? When I put the thumb drive in my old Windows 10 pc, I can mount the iso image on the thumb drive with File Explorer, and read the files just fine. I tried burning the image to a DVD, but naturally the image is too big for a standard DVD, and I don't have any double-layer ones.

I also tried using the thumb drive to boot the machine, thinking that maybe it would run the driver install program from the image. But the new pc doesn't boot it, so I am assuming this means it is not bootable. Maybe it's me, it's only been about 15 years since I built my old pc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Forget the drive, just download the latest files from the website.

I've read a lot of articles about windows 11 on freefonto but really haven't seen this case. Hope you find a solution soon

You mean just go to the website download the files from there then go back to the pc with the thumb drive and go that route, or are we talking install windows 11 first, then go to website and update/download from there?

Either way works.
