MSI Eclipse Latest Beta Bios

Does anyone know what version we are up to now for the Eclipse Beta BIOS? And is it just me or can the ftp site no longer be accessed?

Um yeah i know how to use the forum flash tool (been using it since BIOS 1.1) The flashtool only TELLS me what beta BIOS are available. It doesn't give me access to them though. I'm chasing after Beta BIOS 1.73b for MSI eclipse but the old link that i used to access the ftp server is no longer allowing me inside. Was wondering if someone on the forums had a new link so to save me from having to wait a few days for a reply from MSI. I've already set up a ticket but no one there works on a sunday....

Hi svet, can you just give a brief idea about what all changes have been made with that BIOS, also gigabyte, evga and now I hear even asus has bios which allows for higher Bclk clocking. Any idea if some1 in MSI is working on it?? Also MSI eclipse is my first MSI board so sorry if I sound noob but does MSI have a homebred overclocker who helps the engineer to design the bios or certain features on their highend mobos?????

thanks a ton Jack for taking the pain to post the changes. Just one more thing that I would like to know is that BIOS upgrade has to be done in steps??? Like from 160, I have to go to 171 to make it work or can I straightaway jump to 173......

No.  Before the BIOS is flashed, the BIOS Chip is completely erased anyway.  There is no benefit in flashing one BIOS after another to get to a later version.  It will only make the whole thing more risky.  Also, the releases are based upon each other (A7520IMS.173 includes all changes of previous releases).

Yes, as Jack stated, the bios is erased before the new bios is written to it--so, go directly to the bios version you want to install.
