Found some interesting information when looking in bios. I thought that there had been two different DRAM chips installed by the ibuypower.com, the company i bought my system from. It appears in bios as one - CM3X2G1333C9A4 and the other two are CM3X2G1333C9D6. The latter two are running at 1066mhz and the first is running at 1333mhz. It says the system is running at 1066mhz. After looking on the mobo I saw that all three are the same number, CM3X2G1333C9D6. Why is one being reported as a different #? Has it been marked wrong on the memory itself? Why are two 1333 running at 1066 and how do I change this? Does it matter that they are not all exactly the same?

Not sure about the numbers issue, but if you have a 920 cpu and it is at stock speed then the memory will default to 1066mhz.
If you overclock say, to 3000mhz using the base clock your memory will then run at 1200mhz.

It is not possible that memory modules are running at different speeds at the same time when controlled by the same memory controller.

Please run CPU-Z and post a screenshot of the "Memory" view and also of the "SPD" view for each memory module.
 
Always possible the modules were factory mismarked. As is the case with many DDR2 rated & marked 1066 modules, your DDR3 1333's may only be oc'd overvolted 1066 chipped. That would also explain why they natively run at 1066. Might give your vendor a call about maybe sending you a replacement 3X2G set.

Also, are the sticks in the right slots? DIMM AO (slot 2), DIMM BO (slot 4), & DIMM CO (slot 6)?

I also noticed that the memory in slot #2 is running at a higher temp then the other 2.
Also, the sticks are in the right slots...... DIMM AO (slot 2), DIMM BO (slot 4), & DIMM CO (slot 6).
 
Hmmmm! Looking like a 'mismatch'. Believe the cm3X2G1333C9A4 is the better stick? Explain it to the vendor & see if they will send you a new set of the C9A4's.

CPU-Z indicating the sticks are in slot 1, 2, & 3 instead of 2, 4, & 6 confuses me a bit, but it shows what it shows.

Edit: Just looked over Corsair's website to try & confirm if the C9A4 was indeed the better sticks. I did not see any with an 'A' listed. Mostly all C9-8-7's with a 'D'.  :undecided:
 
Ya thought it was odd too that it showed 1,2,3 but maybe it just shows dimm1 dimm2 and dimm3. I'll be calling the manufacturer on Monday.
 
What's with the different modules?  It looks like you have 2 different types of sticks there.  Slots 1 and 3 have the same designations and Slot 2 has a different part no., bandwidth, SPD settings, and SPD ext.
 
That's why I posted. The sticks all labled as C9D6. going to take them out today and look for any discrepencies.
 
I found this on Corsair's site, which seems to suggest that the CM3X2G1333C9 series are sold in kits of 2 only. So you've got one-and-a-half kits of that memory in your machine - D6 and A4 are likely just different revisions of the same memory (although the SPD would seem to suggest otherwise). It seems that the A4 is the better module, as it is a native DDR3-1333 part, whereas the D6 pair is DDR3-1066 overclocked to 1333MHz - although neither is capable of the 9-9-9-24 timings claimed by Corsair :rolleyes:.

Contact iBUYPOWER and tell them to fix this for you. If they are professional as their website claims, they should have checked the system before sending it to you - if they had they would immediately noticed the different RAM sticks.
 
Tend to disagree that these mem. sticks are incapable of 9 9 9 24 timings. Every board & system has it's own peculiarities, & operates & functions at different parameters. viking73's setup may even run them @ 1600 8 8 8 24 with little effort, who knows.
