Hello,

I've searched around for similar threads, but the results were inconclusive because the suggested fixes for this problem do not work for me.

When playing any game (tried LoL, Dota2 and Skyrim), the FPS drops every couple of minutes to 4-5 frames per second. If I alt-tab, wait ~10 seconds and then get back into the game, the FPS is back to normal. Then, after a few minutes, it happens again.

I tried fiddling with the GPU settings, I reinstalled the OS (Win 7 64-bit) and the drivers from the official MSI website. Nothing changed. It is not an overheating issue, as I only have this problem for one day, and the temperatures were not different before this (max 81 degrees celsius, cos I have a big-[***CENSORED***] cooler). I do not have any antivirus installed. I can't remember doing anything out of the ordinary before this problem occurred.

Thanks in advance.

I have this same issue. It seems after about 5-10minutes after to gaming a game the FPS will suddening drop for about 5 minutes (unless, as you say, I alt+tab and give it a couple of seconds and go back to it). I have been trying to find a solution to this problem all over the internet, I have yet to find anything. I have tried updating drivers, tested out beta drivers for my Nvidia GeForce GT 325M on my MSI FX600 which I bought last january. If anyone has any idea how I could fix this, that would be great.

Sounds like an intel speed-step issue. Try disabling that under the advanced tab in your bios at startup (press delete while booting if I had to guess).

I had the same problem for a few months.Today i managed to solve it.I also installed my OS and drivers but nothing...I had a program installed (EVGA precision) for overclocking..and i uninstalled it and put MSI afterburner and now it is back to normal...look if u have any overclocking programs which might change something in ur rutine cooling.Try..i might help...

The problem is back again ...after i restarted...well at least it worked fine for a few hours :(...with speed step disabled it gets hot slower but it doesn't fix the issue...
