MSI G2412 Straining My Eyes

I have MSI G2412 monitor, and I've been struggling with eye strain and discomfort after just a short time of use. It feels like the screen is too harsh or flickery, even with brightness and contrast turned down.

I've tried adjusting all the usual settings – brightness, contrast, color temperature, and enabling low blue light mode – but nothing seems to help. I'm using it primarily for general use and content consumption and gaming, and it’s starting to become unbearable. I’ve never had this issue with previous monitors.

Is anyone else experiencing something similar with this model? Could it be a panel issue, or something with the backlight/flicker?

Hi, It looks like the characteristic of IPS panel (In-Plane Switching), in monitor OSD menu please try to choose different Game mode and disable Adaptive-Sync feature. Also getting higher refresh rate (DP port can support up to 170Hz with overclocking) for Cross-Verification.

i use user mode and Adaptive-Sync feature is disabled and connect it with hdmi (144hz)
