Monitor: G272QPF E2
GPU: RTX 2060

I'm having an issue with my monitor where setting the refresh rate to 180hz makes it so the output colour format swaps from "RGB" to "YCbCr422". The output dynamic range also swaps from "Full" to "Limited". I am also unable to swap the output colour depth from "8bpc" to "10bpc" (which for this monitor would be 8bpc + FRC I believe). When attempting to apply these settings at 180hz, the nvidia control panel just resets the values. At 165hz I can set it to RGB with full dynamic range with a colour depth of 8bpc - unable to set it to the 10bpc option though.

I have updated the driver of the monitor, reinstalled my GPU drivers, and power cycled the monitor. I am not running HDR. Also deleted custom ICC profiles and just using the profile provided by the driver update.

I would like to be able to use this monitor at 180hz, 8bpc + FRC, set to RGB with a Full Dynamic Range. Could this be an issue with the stock DisplayPort cable not having enough bandwidth? Only solution I can think of that I haven't tried yet.

thanks for sharing this new tweak

Are there any downside to modify "font porch", "sync with", "tota pixels" as you did ?
No there isn’t any downside with the font porch and sync width, the numbers I have used keeps everything low latency and keeps the input low as the pic what you are showing on the right with 48/3 - 32/5 causes too much input lag and not low latency every thing what I showed is all optimised for the monitor and keeps the input lag down

Go and enjoy 180hz :)

(Newest Update - 16/06/2025) for custom NVIDIA Resolution settings

Hey guys, I’ve found a way to achieve 180Hz instead of using 179Hz. I’ve been working on this for a few weeks now. The only downside is that you can’t run 10-bit colour depth (bpc) with these custom settings, as it’s not supported. However, you can still use 8-bit colour depth (bpc) with RGB and Full colour range. It’s entirely up to you whether you want to use these custom settings. I’ve discovered a way to get 180Hz using a DisplayPort connection, with RGB and Full colour range.

I’ve tested all of this, and it’s brilliant. You can now use Fullscreen mode in games instead of Fullscreen Borderless, which was required for the previous 179Hz custom settings what I made. With these new settings, you can achieve 180Hz in every game without issues, as well as in other applications, while maintaining RGB and Full colour range.

when doing the custom resolution make sure you are on 165hz or you can't do it if you are already on 180hz make sure to change your hz to 165hz then you are good to go with the custom settings

Hey, i've tried this settings but after i apply it, it only shows 6bpc of colour dept. Do you know anything a can try to archieve 8bpc RGB with 180hz refresh rate?

I've updated the Timing settings, and you'll notice the changes compared to my previous post. Keep in mind, I'm only human and can only test so much to find the best settings for this monitor. I just wish the whole color bandwidth issue wasn't a problem at all for 180Hz in the first place.

Hey thanks for the reply,

I managed to get the exact same result as yours, so i'm currently on RGB 8bit 180hz.

Thank you for effort, i'm now using the full potential of my monitor!

hi, thanks for your new preset, can i ask you the benefit of this new setting vs the old one ? :)
I was testing things out and found that the default numbers for front porch and sync width work with the 2650/1500 for the pixel clock. Using these normal default settings keeps the monitor running smoothly without any tweaks, but unfortunately, HDR with 10-bit colour still isn't available.

Hello,
have you managed to get good settings with the custom RGB settings ?

Yeah, I've tweaked a few more of my monitor settings now. I'll share the full list when I'm back on my PC. Just wanted to say these are the ones I'm really happy with—they feel comfy for me, but I've also put proper effort into understanding what each one actually does. I've made sure nothing's throttling the bandwidth, the input lag is super low (basically unnoticeable when I press a key or button), the colours stay consistent across games, and overall it just feels spot-on for gaming and everyday use. Proper nice! 😊
