Hi guys,
Im looking for some help as Im having serious audio issues and Ive been told its due to the realtek audio drivers not cooperating well with MSI gaming machines. Im far from an expert in this area and Im really struggling.
One issue is that my mic on my Astro A40 headset is extremely quiet (sometimes) but works properly other times. Ive gone over everything from the headsets side and it works properly anywhere else. It plugs in with split 3 ring jacks to audio and mic ports, everything should be working properly. Mic is at 100% and 20-30db boost in recording devices and still extremely quiet and choppy sometimes.
I was told to uninstall nahimic and realtek audio drivers. The first time I did this it fixed the major sound issues I was having (very low quality speaker output) but then caused the mic issues. Then sometimes it will give me no speaker devices at all, and other times it will give me 3 speakers (in my playback devices).
Every time I restart it reinstalls the realtek drivers automatically even though I selected my MSI device to not auto update. They simply keep coming back with the newest version which I assume is causing a lot of troubles. Ive seen online that maybe old drivers will work better, before the change to nahimic, but I cant find them nor have any idea how old I would need to go.
Any help is greatly appreciated because every time I go into a skype call or record a video its a toss up to whether ill get the mic to work, and half the time I start the laptop, same thing with any sound at all from the computer speakers. (headset audio works great and same with monitor audio from my external monitor when plugged in, just the laptop speakers have these issues).
