MSI GE72 6QD
- I7 6700HQ
- GTX 960M 2GB
- 1 TB HDD 7200 rpm
- 8 GB DDR4 RAM
The Design of this one is perfect!! With 17.3" widescreen IPS panel anti glare and full backlit steelseries keyboard, Its perfect.
The 17.3" IPS panel feels so great and clear, its even surpass my expectation, Along with MSI true color and Dynaudio speaker, you can totally watch movies with good video and audio. Nahmic also offers a virtual surround and more enhancement on the sound, I have tried to use it and decided to disable reverb and volume boost, because it's actually make the song feels strange and different. The bass is great, this is the first laptop I own that's actually have a bass.
The full HD (1,920-by-1,080-resolution) display is pretty good quality?I didn't have any complaints, even if it doesn't dazzle. It's not an In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel, so viewing angles are only okay, but from straight on it's clear and bright. Most gaming laptops, even in the high-end price range, still opt for 1080p screens since higher resolutions are more demanding and can result in reduced performance. One notable exception is the Razer Blade, which boasts a 3,200-by-1,800 (QHD+) resolution on its smaller touch screen. It does look sharper, but given the power of contemporary mobile graphics cards, it's arguably not worth the trade-off in performance?1080p results in the most realistic mix of visuals and performance for the GE72.
The SteelSeries keyboard offers both color and quality, allowing you to change lighting across four zones on the fly with the free software. The keys have a good amount of travel and are satisfying to type on. The touchpad is made of brushed plastic to fit in with the keyboard deck aesthetically, but the texture is an odd choice for something you have to rub your fingers across. It tracks fine, but feels strange and even cheap compared with the rest of the build. The speakers from Dynaudio provide good sound quality that doesn't degrade at high volumes.
One nice thing a thicker frame affords you is a wider offering of ports. On its left flank, the GE72 holds an Ethernet port, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, a Mini DisplayPort connector, a USB-C port, and headphone and microphone jacks. On the right, there's an SD card slot and a DVD drive. For storage, there's a 1TB 7,200rpm hard drive on board, as well as a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD) boot drive for faster startup?a good pairing for this price. Also included are a 720p webcam, Bluetooth, and dual-band 802.11ac wireless. MSI supports the GE72 with a two-year limited warranty.
