MSI GE76 RAIDER 12U random crashes when playing games

I have a brand new MSI GE76 Raider 12U. I get sudden crashes whenever I open a game or I'm playing it (See attachments), the laptop gets blocked and I have to force the shutdown.
I've tried with DRM Fix Tool provided by MSI and I click 'Park' before running any game. Still crashes. The only thing I came up with is that I'm running Windows 11 and it might not be ready for that yet.
I've retrieved this from Event Viewer: 'Performance power management features on processor 19 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.'
Did anyone run into the same problem and solved it? I'm pretty sure it'd be related to software, I don't want to deal with hardware warranty repairs...
Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem, gonna try:

1Better powersupply
2Update BIOS
3Reinstall Nvidia drivers
4Clean install windows

In that order, after that idk what to do, gonna contact MSI then

I updated the Bios and it seems to be working now, also using the DRM fix tool. Didn't have any crash since then although i feel it'd come in any moment. I'll keep the thread up to date as this shouldn't be happening in such a expensive device. BTW, I contacted MSI, they told me to send it to warranty but I want to be 100% sure that is not a software problem but hardware, although I don't think it is hardware related (fortunately). Keep in touch.

Sweet! I haven't gotten around to it yet, also i haven't heard about the DRM fix tool but I'm gonna start with the BIOS and then see! I'll let you know how it goes

I was about to downgrade to Win10 but after updating BIOS and using this tool each time I play a game, it's not crashing, at least by now. I guess it's related to Intel dealing with processor issues, keep all drivers up to date and see how it goes. I'll report any further crash I find.

So it started to crasch/freeze normally without DRM and started to bluescreen crash with that fix, so i just returned it, maybe a hardware problem.

Hey! Having a very similar issue. Out of curiosity, where did you buy the laptop from? Was it from the Amazon seller "Happy Ranger"?
No, I bought from a seller call Allzone. Not sure about their customer service, but very good prices and so far so good. I solved my crashing problem updating the BIOS. It was amazingly solved and I've never had the problem anymore. Please tell me if that works for you, otherwise I can try to help you.

Currently running BIOS E17K4IMS.209 and having the same problem again and again. I gonna do a rollback as the previous version worked with no problem at all.
My guess is that is has to do with the temperature management of the system. Any further ideas on this?

I did all that for such a long time and nothing worked out. I finally sent it to RMA and they changed the RAM modules and the cooling system. That was around a week ago when I received it back (very efficient process I must say) and so far I didn't have any problem at all, temperatures are lower than before so it seems it's finally fixed. Doing some research on the web, some people were claiming it was a ram problem and it seems it really was. Unfortunately I don't know any further details by now. Hope this can help.

Hi,

Do you have any updates on this problem? I have similar problems with my GE76 raider 12UHS.

My laptop's problem is stated here:
The crash usually happens suddenly after playing any games for several hours. I have played different games with different GPU utilization from 50% to 100%, and the crash always happens. Once, even though I was just watching videos, the laptop crashes with the same phenomenon. When the crash happens, the screen is frozen, showing the last frame, and stuck there; the speaker is playing the last syllable of the music repeatedly, which is quite annoying, and the keyboard and mouse just don't work anymore. The only thing I can do is push the power button for a while and brutely restart the laptop.
I have updated all the drivers to the recommended ones, but it doesn't help. I think it could be hardware problems.

I sent the laptop to a MSI service point and they changed the motherboard for it. But within three days of the repair, the same crash happened again.
I'm now desperate since the laptop really costs a lot.

I was wondering how many GE76s have this problem. If it is common, MSI has to do something!

I really know how it feels bc i faced the same problem for a year now. However, I sent it to RMA but they didn't change the motherboard, it was the RAM modules and the heat dissipation circuit with the fans, as well as updating bios. I suggested that a thermal management problem might be occurring and I think that's what they changed what I told you. You should try the same and send it again, commenting on these things. So far, after the repair, I've had no problems and I've been hardly trying for them to occur, but the laptop finally seems to work as expected for the price you pay for it. Please lmk if these solves your problem as well, we're not alone and it's a shame that MSI haven't said anything about it officially.

Thanks for your advice! That's really helpful. I will ask the service point again and see what happens. I will post new information if I get any updates.
