MSI GeForce3 Ti 200 SVideo Out

welp i got an MSI GeForce from a friend fer cheap but i can't seem to figure out how to get the TV in and out work...

i go into the settings and tell it to reditect the imput devices and it don't seem to see my TV i have an Svideo cable with an Svideo to RCA adapter

i've used a program called TVTool and it did send a signal to my TV but it was VERY messed up the color was wacked and it's was very fuzzy

is there certin MSI software i need to use these things? like how do i even use the TV in function without something to watch it on heh?

if anyone can help me i'd be very happy

heh i think i may have posted this in the wrong place in the MB section :))

Just a few suggestions:

I would try to connect RCA cable from card to TV (I don't know your card, so I'm supposing there is a composite video out). Maybe something in this SVIDEO/RCA adaptor causes the problem.

Try to turn on your computer with the TV connected and on. Some videocards with tv-out detects the TV during boot.

Try different driver versions.

well i've been reading posts about this problem and it seems to be a driver issue...

i didn't get a driver CD with this card.. so can anyone send me them?

aswell as if the newer nVidia mistake the Encoder and the original drivers work... does that mean i can only use the really old drivers to make the TV out work? if so thats compleatly retarted

Sometimes, or for some systems, older drivers works better than newer. It sounds stupid, I know, but it's true. I'm using video drivers 27.50. If I install newer, video in or video out (or both) will stop working.
Try to download MSI drivers from this site (there is a version recommended for VIA chipsets, if it's your case).

Check the TV-out settings. If the system is wrong(PAL/NTSC), you'll get garbage.

witch drivers tho? the really old nVidia drivers? don't the newer drivers improve preformance???

and why woulden't MSI offer a fix fer this problem like a BIOS flash or something???

i have am ECS K7S5A MB so it's SIS Chipset

any driver version to recomend?

which version Gf3 do you have. 8850 or the 8851?

newer drivers can imrove performance, at a cost to stability and features, but then they could add more or different features. and the 30 series are going to use the Gf4 as a test base, so the Gf3/2 may get left behind??

most stable are 21.83 and 23.11
28.32 and 29.42 are next in line

and enio, you are lucky to be happy on 27.50. I had nothing but trouble with them :D

the 8850 i'm pritty sure

it has Svideo in and out with RCA out aswell heh

i don't totaly care about preformance right now i would just like to get this Video out working... i mean whast the sence of buying a card with all the goodies and it don't even work?

ok well i got these MSI StarForce drivers 28.90 version.. i was reading that other ppl got the TV out to work with the earler versions but how do i even tell it to pick what out put now??

you can give this bios a go. The 103 is the newer one. Open the htm link, self explanatory after that.
If you are sure you have the 8850, this is the bios fix you need.

To select video out,
Display Properties,
Advanced,
Device Selection,
Select TV and set your format.

Hey Camel, that link doesn't seem to work. Can you find it again and repost? I'm trying to nail the same problem as LoMax here, but with the 8851.

It seems to be down, along with liveupdate2 at the moment.
Maybe maintenance or something ?(
or they changed sites on us :D
