Hi,

I've problem running my new MSI GeForce4 Ti 4200 on MSI 694D Pro-AR with AGP4X!! ;(

I've done some research and I believe the problem lies on the "AGP Aperture Driving value". Since all articles refers me to obtain the 'appropriate' value from the manufacturer... :D

Some of the values suggested are CC,CA,DA,EA,FF and BA ?(

So I post this article to see if you people have any idea what is the exact value. (Since MSI is both manufacturer of my motherboard and video card...) 8)

Additional Info: I can't change any option in the Displays setting on 'MSI' tabs For example, check the AGP 4X check box. ;(

You may reply to me on chung-ren.yim@shell.com or via this thread.

Also... my Dungeon Siege crush on me with 'DirectX error - Video Initialization Error' 8o

DirectX version 8.1,
Motherboard BIOS version ... can't remember but I've just updated the BIOS sometime this year... should be the latest...

Running Dual PentiumIII 800Mhz with 4 X P133 256MB LC3 Apaccer RAM...

If you can run it at 2x I would not worry too much about 4x, I could NEVER get my Geforce2 GTS to work at 4x on that board.

Cheers,
AP.
P.S. I am now using a 6VTXD and also can not get it stable with a TI4600!

Guys!! Help!!! ;(

BAd news and good news...

Installed VIA_4_In_1 driver. (Thanks! Dawkin)
Applied W2K SP2.
Installed driver 3000
Set Aperture Driving Value to B9... Tried (BA,DA,EA,E9)

Good news...
Managed to push it to AGP4X!!!

Bad news...
Windows Media Player sceen flickers....
3DMark crash on the first test itself...
Dungeon Seige hang on the intro screen...
Basically the system just hung... The only thing that worked was the 'reset' button.
As good as nothing....

;( ;( ;(
Not sure this is still Aperture Driving Value or some other issue...

Any comment is welcome. I'm desperate!! :]

Probobly not what you want to hear, but VIA chipsets have these problems and the AGP rate hase almost no impact on preformance.

With these 2 facts I would suggest keeping it at AGPx2.
