MSI GF63 Thin 9RCX Battery Drain Issue

Hello everyone. Guys I’m facing exactly same issue with my MSI GF63 9SC. I took my laptop to the service center. They said they replaced the battery. However the issue was not resolved. I kept on using the laptop anyway because of the pandemic. Now when I was able to visit the service center again, the service center people are again recommending to change the battery. The question is if the battery replacement would solve the issue, it would’ve been solved by the first replacement only, why they need to do again or may be they have not replaced the battery in the first service. Guys if you know the resolution for the issue do let me know. And as far as my knowledge I dont think the issue is with the battery.

First of all, should open your own thread next time since it's not the same laptop as the original person who created the thread.

What I recommend you do is the following:
1. Update EC firmware. Download EC from the download page of your laptop.
2. Reset EC. (It's different from the EC update, follow the "EC reset" section in this link to do so).
3. In Dragon Center, go to Battery Master and set the profile to "Best for mobility" (charge the battery to 100%).
4. Also in Battery Master, run Battery Calibration.

hello guys. my msi gf63 9rcx got battery issue. when i using it the laptop unplugged, the battery suddenly died. and when i plugged adapter. the battery show 0% and start charging it again. it happens randomly, but especially when im open the game. any advice is big help

Hello,
I have exactly same battery drain issues with my MSI GF63 thin 10SCXR, since I bought it (04/2020)
The battery problem occurs randomly.
Sometimes I turn it off 80% charged, and when I turn it back on the next day, it has battery at 0%.
Sometimes everything works fine for 3 weeks and then the problem reappears suddenly.
I normally shut down the laptop with the Windows menu, and wait for it to be properly shut down before I close the flip.

I have already do all the manipulation :
- Update and reset EC
- Update Bios
- Update all the driver
- Disabled fast startup on Win 10, and Disabled fast startup on the Bios
- I disabled all the standby options, in the Windows options
But the batteries issues continues.
I took the laptop to a repairstore, they kept it for a week, and after testing the battery, he found nothing abnormal,
I offered to replace the battery, the repairman told me the battery had no physical issues.

I am looking for other solutions, if anyone has found what this could come from.

Hi Guys,

Anyone found a solution for this already ? I have the same issue on a MSI GF63 thin9SC. All the updates for EC and restet is done, I am in contact with support but yet no useful info was coming back. Seems like a build/generic issue with these types.

More details about your situation?
Did you do the calibration after the EC update/reset? calibrate a few more times (two or three times)?

Yep, I did multiple times, at least 3 times but still facing this issue. (Calibration is successfully completed all the time) Issue is completly the same as it is for some others with this battery drain issue. I have noticed that it mostly occurs when I turn off the laptop with around or less than 80%, when I turn it on it is just completly flat and have to put into charger. The battery itself however works well as If i do not turn it off and get to a full charge I can easily use it for 2.5-3 hours.

Go to BIOS > Main > System Information and check if the EC version is 16R3EMS1.104.
If yes, my advice will be to contact the official service center and let them do the check directly.

Yes, that is the version of the EC. I fear support does not have a soltuion as if they would then already there would not be so much topic around this issue...

exactly brother. I took my laptop 4 times to the service center. they replaced the batter twice. The issue is still there. Would you let me know which service center you took the laptop to?
