So, about two weeks ago I got my new Gaming Notebook, the MSI GP60 2QF, I'll post my overly hyped opening soon too :bonk: .
The Specs are:
15.6" Full HD - Display
i5 4210-H Dual Core 2.9GHz (up to 3.5GHz)
8GB RAM
GTX 950M
HDD 500GB

I'm going to add a SSD too.
As for now I have only played games by Valve and Serious Sam 3: BFE, which all ran extremely smoothly without a problem.
All of the games I played (Portal 2, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Half Life 2 and Serious Sam 3: BFE) always had more than 160 FPS with the highest graphics settings.
From that i can say that I will probably be able to play games like GTA V, Fallout 3 and FarCry 4 without a problem too, probably not with the highest graphics, but with very good ones.
And for Games that will come out in the near future, I will try to add an external Graphics Card and replace the CPU! xD But there's still enough time left until this is needed! You can tell me what CPU I can replace mine with too pls!! :D

Although I played some Minecraft too, I won't list it here because of a bug that occured for me, which made Minecraft run at about 40 FPS. This obviously isn't the fault of MSI but rather Java's fault! If somebody can help me with this bug, please reply!

To finish it off, I want to say that I'm very happy with my new Gaming Notebook and can't complain, I hope this post helped some Valve fans out there too! :worship:

If you want to see my  Gameplay Content recorded with the GP60 2QF you can go over to my (german) channel where I will (hopefully) start recording again, NOW with the new Notebook! YouTube Name: c0merl

Here I have some more beautiful words because MSI thinks that I don't even have 350 Words and that Fruits aren't yummy!
COME ON HOW MANY WORDS DO YOU NEED MSI???? HOW MANY!!!! uuuuhhh summa lumma dumma lumma you assuming I'm a human what I gotta do to get it through to you I'm superhuman, innovative and I'm made of rubber so that anything you say is ricocheting off of me and it'll glue to you!

I don't believe that you can add an external GPU to the GP60 series of laptops. Only select laptops have that ability. MSI makes one for the GS30, but I don't believe it's available yet. And I don't believe it will work with any other laptops besides the GS30.

You could probably upgrade the CPU a little bit, maybe to an i7, but I would be a little wary of heat, as it will probably run much warmer than the i5, especially if it has a higher TDP than the current processor in your laptop.

But glad you are very happy with your laptop. It is a good one for sure. :)

I dont think it would give you a noticeable Boost in terms of Gaming to upgrade your CPU. My MSI Notebook has the same unit and that was never the choke point.
Are you running your MC Server on your local Machine? In this case you could try to Start it via cmd and allocate more RAM to the Server.  I dont have the command line present but it should not be hard to find.

But you should definitely try to upgrade it to SSD. The difference is huge! You will feel it once you press the POWER button.
Once you've tried it, there is no turning back...

Trust me. Forget about HDD~
MSI has a default Super Raid function, which does different SSD Raid 0 (or even SSD PCIE Raid 0), depending on models.
