Hello!
I already contacted MSI support, but I am very, very disappointed in their responses. Anyway --
I took apart my MSI laptop with the intention of replacing the keyboard. Many of the keys had no lettering on them, IE, the keycap was blank from usage.
While I eventually figured out that replacing the keyboard was an exercise in futility, when I put the lappie back together, I could not get the keyboard to consistently work. Here is what is happening:

+Throughout all of this, the RGB of the keyboard is undisturbed, save for during the boot up process where it appears to be reloaded.
+When booting, I am able to enter BIOS with presses on the keyboard. Inside BIOS, I am not able to navigate, save, exit, anywhat - with keyboard keys.
+There is a similar situation logging into Windoze: when I get to the pin entry in my user login, there is zero keyboard key recognition. However, if I plug in an external USB keyboard, something seems to be loaded/reloaded and then I can mostly get key entry from the integrated keyboard.
+It seems like the trackpad is working fine.
+BIOS has been updated to the latest settings and reloaded to defaults. This has not helped.

Unfortunately, this is my cousin's laptop that is now in my possession, and I don't know if the keyboard lapses were caused by my disassembly of the chassis or if it's been a problem for a while.
What I find is most likely is that I might have unplugged something, or damaged a connecting cable. If that is so, could I get some directions on how to locate this keyboard cable(s), and to discern the full extent of the problem?

Thanks so much for reading!!

P.S., Don't worry about the keycaps anymore. I ordered a replacement compatible keyboard and just removed the keycaps I needed and re-seated them from the top.
