Hello,
I am planning to upgrade my RAM to 2x16 GB 3200MHz with the lowest possible CL. The XMP profile will be changed, and I want to have the option for some overclocking in the future.
Laptop: MSI GP76 Leopard 11UG
MS-17K3

My picks:
1: GSKILL RIPJAWS DDR4 SODIMM 3200MHz CL18 2x16GB

2: PATRIOT VIPER STEEL DDR4 SODIMM 3200MHz CL18 2x16GB

Are these RAM modules compatible with the above-mentioned laptop?

Best regards

Forget the Patriot and as for the G.Skill goes, it should be CL22, that's the default on your laptop.

So I can't lower CL? I remember wthat even CL16 was ok (Crucial Ballistix).
CL16 is for DDR4 2400Mhz.
If you want to use the CL18, your BIOS will have to be modified previously, since with these timings your system will most likely be unable to post,
if you want to go ahead with your test, make sure you can return them for a refund.

I don't understand why you focus on the CL value so much, in games it's the Speed (Mhz) that is important for good framerates.
EX: 3200Mhz = faster that 2666Mhz = higher framerates in games (FPS)
CL18 = faster than CL22 = your programs will open a few milliseconds faster, can you see a difference that is 29/1000 of a second faster?

Im just looking for best RAM, if there is 3200mhz 20 CL (Kingston Fury) and 3200mhz 18 CL (G.SKILL) then why not take those with 18 CL?
Its not only for gaming - Im also photo/video editor and Im looking for something to improve my work also :)
But You're right - defference between 22/20/18 CL is not that big to notice
