MSI GPU warranty when buying from Lenovo

I bought an MSi GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM LIQUID X GPU from Lenovo.

However, based on this list https://us.msi.com/wheretobuy/main_us it seems that Lenovo is not an MSI authorized seller. Which, if I understand this correctly, would mean that MSI may not accept any warranty claims for it. And I’m a bit surprised that a company like Lenovo with more than $15B in revenue is selling GPUs on their store without being an authorized seller where the product may not get any warranty coverage.

I’m still waiting for the card to be delivered, and now I’m contemplating whether to just return it.

Does anyone know if this is correct? Or has experience buying an MSI GPU from Lenovo and filing warranty claims with MSI?

MSI is not responsible for the Warranty Lenovo is if it is one of their Prebuilt systems or a part supplied by them to end users

Normally how it works is you go through Lenovo for a warranty claim, and Lenovo then lodge a warranty claim with MSI.

I would not buy from any company who do not specify warranty conditions on the product page
Best of luck sorting through this mess

There is nothing on Lenovo web page that makes me believe that this is some rebranded part, so I'm assuming that this is going to come in an MSI retail packaging:

If it does show up in a non-retail box, then it is definitely going back.

Also, on that page it is stated that it has a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere on MSI website that warranty will be excluded for cards that were purchased from non-authorized sellers. However, now I'm unable to find that statement, and instead what I understand from rereading the warranty page is that buying from an authorized seller vs. non-authorized would only affects the warranty start date, i.e. from invoice date vs. mfg. date.

Now, I'm not the only one who seem to have the impression that buying from a non-authorized seller can cause some issues:

Lenovo may just be a reseller.
In such cases, you should go through them for warranty rather than MSI as we don't know how MSI would respond.
You should also check directly with MSI about this:
