Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to put an i7-4940mx on my MS-16F4, it currently comes with an i7-4700mq and therefore a 4910mq can be put on it, but I don't know if the 4940mx can be

Already got ms-16F4, equipped with i7 4940mx/before 4710mq/, nvidia gtx 870m 3gb, 32gb ram, ssd msata 1xRAID5, 2xHDD 7200rpm. Have bought unlocked 4940mx, quckly turn out that it can have even 75W, had to locked it due to excesive heat generation: 32 watt(ram)+ 110w(video) +55-75w(cpu) + 6w(disks)= max 223 watt, much than projected 180watt. Now my locked cpu can only reach 55watt. To enhance few days ago bought gtx 1060 6gb mxm 3.0; supposedly consumes 20-30 watts less than 870m. If true it means i am safely below 180 watts. Can also have less RAM i.e. 16GB instead of 32GB also resign from 2 hdds around 5watts less that saves 16+5 watts: 16(RAM)+80(1060mxm)+even 75(cpu)+2 < 180 watts!

for anybody wondering how far you can push the gt60 /gt70 4th gen hardware. I'm running I7 4940MX and MXM GTX1070 8GB. 32GB DDR3, you have run slightly older drivers from 2020/19 and no modifying anything, if anybody want to know how this is done, I'm happy to provide proof and a step by step on how to do it with device manager, hope this helps people wondering
