Hello everyone !

I am going to buy a notebook, but I don't know what to choose  :-P) (GT735 or GT720)
I like to play latest games so I need powerful machine. Which model is more powerwul for gaming, photoshopping etc?

Is it true that AMD Turion Ultra ZM82 is always wery hot  ? Does anyone use msi notebook with AMD Turion Ultra ? How high are your temperatures ?

sometimes model names are changed GX instead of GT

Here are specifications:

GT720
Processor: Core 2 Duo P9500 2,53GHz
Ram: 4GB DDR2 800MHz
Graphic Card: GeForce 9600GT 512 MB DDR3

GT735
Processor: Turion Ultra ZM82 2,2GHz
Ram: 4GB DDR2 800MHz
Graphic Card: Ati Radeon Mobility HD 3850 512MB DDR3

I need advice, please write as much and as fast as you can.

Thanks

The 735 is more powerfull, it has a far more advanced videocard.
However, you can't compare a laptop with a desktop when it comes to gaming.
Games run best on Desktops as the hardware is a lot faster.
Laptop are primary for long battery duration and have components to make that happen, it will never be equal as fast at the same desktop configuration.

Ye but what about processor ? The amd processor is much worse than the intel one. Also I need info about AMD Turion ultra temperatures while gaming (in stress) and in normal work like photoshopping etc. I have heard that AMD Turion Ultra are causing BSOD's, and temperature is like 80 even 90+ Degrees. Is that true ? I need a lot of infos, thanks anyway.

These are laptops, not gaming monsters.
These are midrange machines compared to desktop machines, the CPU doesn't matter that much.
The videocard does most of the work, and ATI is simply better in that range.

A laptop CPU will get very hot when you start gaming on them, that's normal as they have very small cooling fans and heatsinks.
Intel or AMD, it really doesn't matter when it comes to a laptop.
Like I said before, Laptops are build for mobility and battery lastings, not to compete with desktop machines.

Mabe you know how high is that temperature ? I have heard that amd turion ultra is much hotter than intel core 2 duo (like 90C vs 65C). Can this temperature turn off notebook or damage hardware ? I want to use my mashine for at least 5 years. What Graphic card is cooler  3850 or 9600gt ? Please Give me advice.

Laptops get hotter then desktops when being run 100% all the time.
Why do you care about the heat so much? It shouldn't be any problem apart from the Laptop feels warm a bit.
If the air-holes aren't blocked they will not turn off.
I don't know what the temps are exactly, I never look at them, as my and my daughters AMD laptops run just fine and smooth.

Get a cooling pad to set your laptop on.  This will help with the cooling.

Here's an example of one:

Which one would you choose ? and why ? How high is the difference between this two notebooks ?

ps. I care about temperatures because my notebook with gf7900 gtx just burned (it was like loosing 2500  usd :( )

It can only burn if:

1. the instakes are blocked

2. if the heatsink is improperly mounted (=manufacturer fault)

3. if the heatsink is too small (=manufacturer fault)

MSI has a very long and good warranty on Laptops.
So far we didn't see people with burned chips in Laptops.
However, I still prefer the ATI over any nVidia, as it's typical nVidia's get very very very HOT.
And on top, the ATI's perform better in games and have a better picture quality.

One more thing, do you know what Sound Card do this laptops have ? do they have 7.1 output ?

I have downloaded the driver and found this in the ini: AppName=Realtek High Definition Audio Driver
Looks like a full-blown HD audio-chip to me.

Why don't you ask MSI Poland? They should know the exact specifications.
I can only tell you what's listed on MSI's website.

But like I said before, to me it looks like you need a desktop, not a laptop.
Laptops normally don't have very powerfull speakers and outputs, remember it's all about powersaving and small packaging.

Just because I was asking them by phone and they do not know that too...

Anyway thanks for your time  :)

You mean the power of the build in speakers?
That won't be a lot.
External speakers always have their own amplifier, so it's not relevant how much a Laptop does.

Yep, I meant the power of the build in speakers.

One more thing, I don't want to buy Deskop PC because im still moving from one place to another. School <-> Home once a weak.

I have seen that before, thanks anyway :)

I think that I'll take the GT735

Do you know where can I find user reviews/tests of this model ? I was searching about 4 hours for that but I haven't found anything ...

Many sites do not review Laptops and if you can find one, then they are mostly testing old ones.
Why don't you simply go into a shop, take your own tests with you and do the tests.

I have 2 ATI/AMD powered Laptops here in my home and I simply love them, very little noise and they are plenty fast.
My daughter has the EX610 and runs Cad/Cam ProEngineer on it without any troubles at all, and that isn't even a gaming edition :lol_anim:
