I repair motherboards in Russia, a lot of boards come after the BIOS update on which the sound stops working. But rolling back to previous versions through the programmer does not help. The only way to make the sound work again is to change the chipset with a new chipset and the sound starts working with any firmware. Also, if you put this chipset on another H610 board from ASUS GIGABYTE ASRock, there is also no sound. Incorrect firmware somehow disables the chipset. The problem is that the chipset does not reset the audio codec, I tried to force it to be removed, but it also does not work. This massive problem occurs for users after updating the BIOS, the sound disappears in the task manager or hangs on the VGA post code, but after firmware on the programmer we also get a non-working sound. Solve the problem in Russia, they refuse to accept these warranty cards because they blame the user for incorrectly updating the bios. I'm sure there's a firmware that will fix it somehow.

I even made a video about it a long time ago.

Yes, there are numerous affected users here too,
etc...

When you say "change the chipset with a new chipset", you mean the audio chip itself, right? Not the BIOS chip?
Because that is also what this user wrote, https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?...r-the-bios-update-12400f.404247/#post-2292063

This would be very expensive for MSI to replace all the audio chips on the affected boards. Not so much in cost for the chip, but all the labour they would need to spend on this. And it's a big hassle for all the affected users, compared to a fixed BIOS version!

I have to admit, i haven't been following this issue that closely, but i've seen it mentioned numerous times. I'm a bit surprised that there hasn't been a BIOS update that can fix this again. The issue has been ongoing for too many months now.

This happwned on my laptop as well it all stoped working after there was an automatic update to the latest bios and the audio driver for the integrated speaker and microphones stoped working but wired and wireless audio is transmitted. The problem for most users is due to jan 2025 bios update. Which for me was an automatic update i didn't even do anything it got installed overnight.
