MSI K9ND Speedster 2 and Opteron 2425HE

Hi everyone,

I need your expert help with this as it's driving me bonkers.

I recently purchased a second hand ms9661 board to use as a virtual host at home (Plex, torrent, zoneminder etc). It initially came with 2 opteron 2352 processors and works perfect.

Me being me I wanted more horsepower and using less power so I bought 2 Opteron 2425HE 6 core processors.

I knew I needed the latest BIOS in order for the board to accept the Istanbul cores so I've flashed the BIOS but the board will not even boot to POST with these processors installed (guaranteed to not be DOA also).

I know the Speedster 2 can accept Istanbul cores as there's some still for sale on eBay with the 2423HE 6 core processors.

So my question is... Am I missing something stupid in order to get these processors working with this board before I contact the seller to tell them their processors must be DOA?

Also does anybody have the manual for this board or the very latest BIOS that they would kindly send me? Just as I was about to download both MSI killed off the pages for the Speedster 2!

Your best bet is probably to contact MSI directly about it.

Hi,
I had the same problem.
The solution is to fill at least, all the 4 banks of one of the two side of memory.
