MSI laptop GE70 2PE Apache Pro stuck on "MSI" logo screen. Help

Also, what version of driver are you using for the programmer? That might make a difference as well.

Look at attachment, i think the chip is working ok.

i am using the lastest official bios from MSI webside for my laptop (GE70 2pe Apache pro gtx 860m) E1759IMS.52D. You uploadet the bios E1759IMS.80c. Its for GE70 2qe Apache pro gtx 960m).

Hmmm ... version 1.29 program?

If it were me, at this point, I would remove the chip and use the green pcb board to perform the erase/write. And making sure after erasing, to re-read before writing to make sure it is empty.

I don't see the Unique ID listed in that screenshot. But I'm also not 100% sure if this model should show a unique id. There is a newer version of the programming software out there, I haven't given it a go yet myself. There are also a couple different driver packages for the programmer.

What is the model number printed on the mainboard? Should look something like MS-7778 V1.0 or similar.

hey

the chip programming did work very well.
The connection of the bios chip to the mainboard was f***d up, because of the clip. You need to try set the clip up serveral times, until its correctly on the chip. When I tried it several times, a contact has broken.
So i soldered it on again and now it works.

Anyway, now we know this error.

Yes, thanks for the help and the toturial. It would not have been possible without you!

That's good news!

I didn't realize there was an 860gtx and a 960gtx version. 2PE and 2QE .... so for anyone else that might attempt this, just make sure you get the correct bios for your model. The rest of the procedure should work. :)

And if you don't want to risk/attempt it yourself ... you're welcome to contact me about getting yours done.

Just letting you all know that a fix I found a fix that worked for me.  I sport a GE62 Apache Pro.   The same thing; I was stuck at the MSI screen and couldn't get past it.  Like others in this forum I tried a bunch of fixes, ie. batterie out etc. I could not get to bios screen, hitting delete or f10, or f1, or anything would not take me there. Nothing worked. Except the last one:

I took the hard rive out, turned it on and it automatically went to the bios screen. At that point I went and disabled UEFI fast boot. then powered off, put hard rive back in and it booted up fine.  I later went back into bios and re enabled, as I hate having it take forever to log in.  Figured it was the first time in 2 years so it probably isn't a frequent event.

Laptop has been working since with no issues. It appears that it was stuck in the Fast Boot.

Hello, i planning repair MSI MS-1773 GS70, with exactly same issue (stuck on MSI screen), i would like to ask if anyone who has experiences with this repair or can give me advices in case of some issues ?

Finding the chip should be easy in this tipec are two names of chip, disassemble notebook and try to find them on the mother board, i can post some pictures after dissasembling.

Hi Chuck!
