Hello, I can't access the BIOS. I have a black screen with a dash, regardless of the system (8.1, 10, or 11). The keyboard flashes blue when Windows fails to boot (GT72 2PE).Here's what I've already tried: • Holding the power button for 30 seconds without plugging in the computer, then plugging it in and trying to start it. Removing the CMOS battery. Using a Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 boot CD, but still a black screen.I tried starting it without the battery, but still a black screen with a dash. Then the keyboard flashes blue. I tried asking MSI technical support for the meaning of this, but received no response. What is the meaning of this flashing alert? I removed the two accessible RAM sticks, but I still get a black screen with a dash. I can't access the BIOS or Windows to make any changes, and I forgot to mention that pressing F4 gives me a "Secure Boot Violation" message.Has anyone else encountered this problem? If a kind soul could help me, I would be extremely grateful 😭

I forgot to mention that pressing F4 gives me a "Secure Boot Violation" message.
AI Overview

A "Secure Boot Violation" message when pressing F4 (or upon booting) means your computer’s BIOS/UEFI has detected a change in the operating system or bootloader that it does not trust
.
This is commonly caused by a recent Windows Update (especially on ASUS motherboards), changing hardware, or a corrupted boot loader.
Here is how to resolve the issue:

Method 1: Disable Secure Boot in BIOS
This is the most common fix to get your computer running again.
Google is very helpful. :(

So Secure Boot is on? Was on before this happened?
------------------
And this system is out of service for a long time ....
🤔
I need to know if Secure Boot was on.
Using a Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 boot CD, but still a black screen.
Did you try another system - a non Windows system?

Hello, yes, Secure Boot is enabled. I can't access the BIOS or Windows; I have a black screen with a dash. I tried using a Linux CD, but it didn't work, which is why I'm making this post.

The dash is usually the video initializing, if it is stuck there may be a hardware issue. Check to see if you can do an EC reset on it, you didn't say what type of laptop it is so can't direct you much further.

I have a small hole in the bottom of mine that you stick a paperclip in to do the EC reset.

Which Linux?
Here it becomes tricky. You can only use a few distributions which support Secure Boot. Most distributions do not.
openSUSE, Fedora and Ubuntu and its derivatives support secure boot.

This is why I suggest to boot a Linux. If it doesn't work then I'm fully with you because I had exactly this (broken Nvidia card) on another laptop.
Have a nice day.

What exactly is the distribution, and what is the graphics card doing in the BIOS since I see a dash or Secure Boot icon floating around? When Windows was working, I was able to run a user diagnostic, and the card works; it didn't find any hardware malfunctions on the entire PC.

The picture says exactly what it says.
The boot files are not signed or signed wrong.
I have no time now to explain this further because It is somewhat complicated.
From where does the message in the picture come?

The image looks unfortunate. :(
As a suggestion - without any guaranty - you can try to boot with a ....

The "Super Grub Disk" has a start menu and one of the entries is "UEFI firmware setup". This boots direct into the BIOS.

If this fails than I'm on my wits end.

I will try,But I still don't know the meaning of the flashing keyboard and the failed startup.

I did that, but when I press F12, ››Checking Media Presence appears then Secure Boot icon palette window appears.
.››No Media Present.....

I understand, that's the problem: how to change the BIOS when you don't have access to it.
This.
The only solution of what I can think. Another (empty) hard drive or SSD. Then Secure Boot should not get involved.
But take this also with a grain of salt.

've already installed another empty disk, but it doesn't boot from the installation discs (CD or disk).
