Hi, I recently bought the MSI MAG 256F monitor and the specifications say it is 180hz. One of the cables that came with the monitor was HDMI and in the Nvidia control panel settings it only shows me a limit of 120HZ. Why is this happening or should I buy a DisplayPort cable to be able to use the 180hz?

What Device are you connecting it to? as the speed its limiting to sounds like the Device your connecting it to has a HDMI 1.4 Port as to get over 120Hz you need to be connecting to a HDMI 2.0 or newer one.

DP should do 180Hz ok so if your device only has a HDMI 1.4 Port but has Displayport too then getting a Displayport Cable should get it running at 180Hz

would Probably be better to Swap to Displayport (DP) Cable as it usually supports everything HDMI does but has more Bandwidth anyway.

Hello I just bought the same monitor, I have a 4070ti with the DP cable, and it still only pushes 120...

I have that exact same monitor as OP and this is my current setup. My monitor pushes 165hz.
