Hello everyone.

I purchased the MAG 274QP and I am experiencing higher than normal input lag with this monitor on 120Hz and 60Hz when playing on the Xbox Series.

I am on firmware .009

MSI has released firmware updates for input lag/latency optimization on many other models, and I know the MAG 274QP needs the same fix as well.

What is the best way to reach MSI to fix the input lag on this model (MAG 274QP)?

I feel like I should have just gotten the MSI MPG 271QR x50 as it's been proven by tests/reviews (by DisplayNinja and Tft Central) that it has excellent input lag overall, however it's expensive at around $1,170 CAD.

Not all models are the same.

Thank you.

Hi, On the Xbox Series, please try to go to Settings → General → TV & display options → Resolution: 1080p (120Hz) → Video modes, then check the box for “Allow auto-low latency mode”to enable this feature and see if it helps.

I have it already enabled and tried 1440p and 1080p, both resolutions. Same result. Still high input lag.

There needs to be a firmware fix. The MPG 271QRX received a firmware fix for high input lag, so I don't see why MSI can't do it for the MSI MAG 274QP.

Sigh, I should have purchased the MSI MPG 271QR x50 instead because this model was tested by multiple reviewers and it has low input lag.

The MSI MAG 274QP needs a firmware fix for high input lag at 120/60 hz.

MSI had tested MAG 274QP QD-OLED X24 and there is no issue regarding input lag.
Unlike MAG 274QP QD-OLED X24, they do find problem with MPG 271QRX QD-OLED, hence the fix had been released to MSI website.
In short, those are two completely different monitors and you should not compare them together.

That's probably because the game itself
is capped at 60 frames per second,
which results in a significant difference in frame rates.

I have a KTC H24T09P monitor with very low input lag, the input lag is excellent. The downside is that its 1080p. I tested and compared it to my MSI 274QP, and the MAG 274QP definitely lags and feels more delayed, while my KTC feels light, responsive and instantaneous.

Yeah, I made a mistake to purchase the MSI MAG 274QP because I didn't do proper research. I should have bought the MSI MPG 271QR x50 instead because this monitor has been reviewed/tested by DisplayNinja (and others) and it has low input lag at 5.2 ms on 120Hz.

Lesson learned here... always do research and look at reviews before buying a monitor.
