Hello, guys! I want to connect a Gigabyte 9070 XT Gaming OC to my psu, but I only have 2 pcie 6+2 cable to directly connect with. My question is: 2 cables with a pigtail will be enough to provide power for that card?

should be safe as its within specs of what they can do . that card pulls 340W Total and each Connector would be pulling around 113.34W of power Each and Typically a Pigtail can Handle between the 2 before tripping 240w Of power or so before it thinks its Over Current and Trips out the Protection so for 2 your at 226.67W so your in the Safe Range.

Cheers! I ask about that, because there are a tons of opinions on internet. Some people says it's better to buy 3 pcie cables to connect directly, since pigtails are risky, and others says that unnoficial cables are not safe. There are too much confusion. I prefer to use original cables to avoid any warranty issue.

the Main Cards with that where they Cause Issues are NVIDIA Cards as they Have Spikes of Power Draw that hit the Max that each Cable can Handle but the Rule is under 240W on a single connection Including a Pig Tail one is Safe as its the Spikes that make them Unsafe but as long as the Draw is Lower on that pigtail then the 240W or so its Rated for it is very Safe

I’m new to PC building and need some guidance. I’m using a similar setup with a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XT, which requires three 8-pin connectors. However, my MSI MAG A850GL power supply only has two 8-pin PCIe cables. I still need one more connector for the GPU, but there are no additional PCIe cables and ports available on the PSU. Could you explain what I should do?

Just connect your 2 cables, they will be enough. I've been using only 2 with 1 pig tail with my 9070XT since then and i've no problems.

Hello, I recently purchased an RX 9070 XT Red Devil. It also requires three PCIe power connectors. Since I only have two daisy-chain PCIe cables, is your graphics card still working properly with this configuration?
