MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI - HELP NEEDED!

Alrigh guys,
I have just recently upgraded from a MSI B650 AMD board to a MSI MAG B850 MAX WiFI TOMAHAWK board and have a major issue in regards to the DDR5 memory working on it

I am using Corsair Vengeance DDR5 600MHZ 2x16gb.

I orginally had one stick of memory installed and everything loaded up fine. I then added the seconded one in the right place and nothing came up on the display... there is no boot errors displayed on the board

I have now removed the gpu card, now using on board display with orginal working stick in it and still nothing...

I cant acceas BIOS or even Windows. I have heard that it might be doing a memory test but for hrs it does nothing
 
Oh I see. So it was a misunderstanding. I assumed they were not coming on at all. Yes, when they come on, but all turn off again, then usually you should get a signal on your screen.

But you still said the behaviour was different between certain slots, when tested individually. Can you report what happens for the different slots? This is important, because it could hint to an issue with bent pins in the CPU socket for example.

There should be no bent pins on the CPu, I have not touched it, and it was working before
 
No, the CPU does not have pins, the pins are in the socket, and very easy to accidentally bend during CPU installation, also see here and the following posts.

You never had the RAM working as it should, on the new board. So now I'd like to know how one RAM module only is behaving in the four different slots. Normally, it should always boot up with one module, no matter which slot you use, but if it's the wrong slot (any other than slot A2 for the first module), then the BIOS might complain and show a warning on the screen. But it should still show an image and you can enter the BIOS etc. That's why I want to know the exact behaviour of the slots when tested individually with one module.

Or if you want to do it a different way, take off the cooler and CPU, and check for bent pins in the socket, take some photos of the socket, upload them to an imagehoster and link them here. Even if you don't think there are bent pins (sometimes they are not that easy to spot for the untrained eye). Then we can rule out that possibility.

Listen i have cleary stated that they are no bent pins because ir did work in the first place. If they was any damaged pin how would it havr loaded up BIOS and windows in the first instance???

Happens all the time. Bent pins can cause any weird number of issues, while the PC still boots up normally. For example, you can have one or both RAM slots of a channel not working. Each pin in the socket corresponds to different things. Pins on the right side of the socket go to the contacts in the RAM slots. Pins on the bottom of the socket go to the first PCIe slot and first M.2 slot. So the PC can still boot up easily, and you can still have problems stemming from bent pins.

Please stop wastibg my time... you clearly have no knowledge of tbe b850 board at all.. i need proper people who has got a clue
 
I'm not saying there must be bent pins, just that it would be good to rule it out. Any time the RAM slots behave inconsistently when tested with a single module (I still don't know exactly what happens in your case), it is a hint to check the socket pins. Because should there be any, all other troubleshooting would be a complete waste of time. Oh well, I tried.

It would be hilarious if your CPU did not have an integrated GPU.
