I'm not the best at pc building and I have just built my pc and connected my fans to the fan hub, but it seems like I can only control the fans color via the case? Whenever I switch the control to my motherboard (by pressing the led button for ~5 seconds) they just turn off and don't show up in any software. What am I missing? My motherboard is gigabyte x870e aorus elite wifi7, maybe I haven't connected something? Or perhaps I need an msi motherboard for this, which I highly doubt.

Is the hub connected to your motherboard? The ARGB for the hub will be controlled by your motherboard settings I believe.
What ARGB software are you using to control the ARGB?

I'm not quite sure if it is connected, since a company built the pc for me. Which port should it be connected to? I'm also using signarlrgb
There you will need a 3 pin ARGB header on your motherboard, so you'll have to check your motherboards website or manual if you have it, to see where it's located on your motherboard. There should be a cable running from the ARGB hub header to your motherboard. That's what you'll have to check first.
