Hi people

This morning I upgraded my BIOS from 1.8 to 1.9, I haven't been able to boot my PC whole day

PC fans are spinning, there is a white light on the CPU power plug (I guess that means all is fine)

I unplugged the external GPU, I even unplugged SATA SSD, and 1 RAM stick

* I haven't tried to remove the M2

The main problem is that I do not have video output now, I cleared CMOS and nothing

Also this motherboard (ITX version), seems has no option to reflash bios trough USB + jumper combination

This situation is quite annoying to me, I need the computer for work, this one, not another. (or well..., another with same specs)

Also... where is the CHK number on those motherboards? I see a white label on the motherboard but seems nothing of that is the CHK number

it looks as the same problem indeed

Do you know where is the CHK number of the motherboard? To at least register the product? Store where I bought it told me to directly contact with MSI. If I call to my country number an automatic phone rings telling me to contact to prosuct seller.

Is a more than annoting situation Im sure anyone would understand it.

I don't see anyhting near 24PIN ATX power socket

as soon as I get it solved I will update you

I already requested warranty

They should check the motherboard I cannot tell more right now, I guess in few days I should have an answer from them.

I've read some people telling, oh well I have a second machine (I don't). I hope to have it solved as soon as possible.

I fixed it myself by using programmer to re-flash the BIOS. MSI should look at this issue

thats seems amazing to my

I already packed the motherboard and awaiting them to come and get it

what's that about "programmer", could you share more info? any manual?

I'm software developer, I've done stuff with raspberries and arduinos before

altough electronics are not my best I think I should understand what is that about

It's a special tool to re-flash the SPI Flash. On MSI MB, we can connect this tool to JSPI1/JTPM1 header to reflash the BIOS.

For Z490I Unify, MSI uses the W25Q64FV to store the BIOS: W25Q64FV - - (winbond.com)

But it's better if you send the failed MB to MSI then they can use their own tool to reflash.

as you say mine MSI is gonna take care of (because is already on its way)

but that sounds as an amazing solution

if they ship it back working... maybe I should get this reflash tool in case it happens again

I cannot afford that many days without PC

I just let my vendor take care of it, hope to get answer + solution soon

I always try to buy things out of amazon but in circumstances like that I regreat a bit not having amazon support

I will probably get a z590 from in case they refund me the money, even if I need to add money

would be great if they return to me a z590i Unify instead
