A mini infotainment station that breaks new horizon for multimedia PC

By revolutionizing the application and environment of traditional multimedia PCs, MSI? will announce the MEGA PC series this March at CeBIT 2003 in Hanover, Germany. MEGA PC is a full-function multimedia PC that combines information and entertainment to offer hi-fi stereo, DVD/VCD, MP3, TV and high-performing computer functions in an infortaining component with novel appearance.

As revealed in its name, MEGA (MSI? Entertainment Gaming Appliance) satisfies the needs of both power and game users for infotainment with various multimedia functions and high-performing calculation function. The integrated AGP 8x display and real-time 3D functions that ensure perfect video and calculation make this Pentium 4 based component ahead of ordinary PCs, so that users can enjoy uninterrupted fun of 3D PC games.

To provide higher flexibility for users, MSI? MEGA PC will launch the market in barebones, so that users can choose CPUs, RAM and hard drives according to their real needs. Looks cool. Looks like some of the other mini PCs out there. I wonder what the video card is and if the computer uses DDR or normal SD RAM.

Yeah, same questions i have...

Cant find any more info yet, and no where that sells MSI has any yet..

iWill news little machine is only $179,but no agp slot.. and not much for PCI cards avail...

the nice Shuttles run in the low 300s.. I wonder what the MSI is going to go for?

Apparently it is since we have at least one post about it in the MM forum andI think another one besides this one here. I haven't seen it here in the US yet.

Best thing to do is check your local MSI resellers for availability, No one here knows about what marketing is up to.

I have bought one in the UK, but am having problems obtaining the correct tv card for it (ms8606-20), the only dealers who have them seem reluctant to sell them on their own! ( The dealer I bought the mega PC from does not stock them).,

The marketing info is poor, as it is not clear if any of the other tv cards will support the mega pc remote, and i would rather have 1 remote than 2.

Hi,

They've been available in Australia for a few weeks now. Our wholesale supplier has them for about 20% more than the cost of a Hermes 845GV Barebone system.

Maybe you could contact the MSI office in your country to find out if/where they are available (just don't hold your breath while waiting for a response :rolleyes:

Hey hey its available here. :) Seems to be really cool. But it comes without the processor etc. only the radio and stuff works.

Already starting selling about 1 to 1 & 1/2 months ago in Sinagpore but only the 651 is available.
