I have an MSI MBd . MS-7125 VER:1 on my bench, with no components or anything plugged in except a PSU. When I turn the PSU on, all fans start to run without any start button. I have a spare MS-7125 VER1 and that is the same. This problem exists when inserted into the case and all components installed. After installation ,I switch on the PSU and all fans start up on case and MBd, and presumable the BIOS circuitry. Get "no connection through PC " on monitor. Have changed video card still the same. Suggestions please!!

There are plenty of MS-7125 models. Which one exactly?

Have you tried the setupoutside case on a non-conductive surface?

MSI-7125 VER:1         Have a naked MBd on the bench, insulated underneath, PSU plugged in main socket and 4pin socket. Turn on PSU and on board fans start up, and presumably, on board electronics?

no... That is still the same. The model would be something like K8N NEO4 PLATINUM.

What psu are you using?

K8N Neo4   MBd.    Psu is standard PSU 600W switching power supply. Makes no difference whether   CR2032 is in or not, MBd still energises, ie. fans start up.

Psu is a COLORS ATX switching PSU 600W
Mainboard is MS-7125(v1.X)      K8N NEO4-F1(PCB1.0)   with AMD Athlon 64 3200+  2GHz socket939
Connecting the PSU to MBd on a workbench, MBd  both fans start up
and presumably the board is alive. This should not happen as far as I know?
The board shouldn't come alive!  When the PC is assembled, the same thing happens, the PC starts as soon as the mains switch is turned on and before the PC start button is operated?
Then I get the No Video warning on the monitor!

Try with a quality psu instead of the cheap old one.

Have tried with a spare CIT PSU 500CB and a spare MBd that I have, a K8N NE04-fx( PCB1.0), completely different pair on the work table. Still the fans run!! Maybe its supposed to do this, I don't know. What's your opinion please?

I had pleny of the K8N boards and neither did that as far as I can recall. What if you power down the system normally? Does it switch off? Menas does this just happen when connecting the board with power for the first time?

I have the MBd on the work bench, nothing connected at all. Plug in 600W  power supply at 24pin socket. Turn on power supply at mains switch and the mbD powers up ie. cpu fan and chipset fan startup. Not supposed to happen! Any suggestions why?

Both of those power supplies are junk for what it's worth.....even if they work, I wouldn't continue using them.

That being said, have you reset the CMOS?

There is an option within the BIOS to cause the computer to boot up upon power application. While that sounds strange, it's possible that for some reason it's set to do that.
It still wouldn't surprise me if those supplies are both too old to function correctly on newer hardware.
