Hello. I'm having a weird issue for some time now. My PC works fine but sometimes when I start my PC, the mobo stucks on the VGA led. The only way I can fix this issue is to turn off the PC from the mains and then start it and it works fine. This issue happened to me a number of times when I was using integrated graphics. And today, I've experienced the VGA issue with my rtx 3050 card for the first time. I don't know if it's an issue with this specific board or a bios issue. My bios is updated to the latest one ( 7D43v12 ).

Specs:
Intel i3 12100
16gb ram
rtx 3050
corsair cx450w psu

Can't say i've heard of such a case on a 600-series board before. How often does this happen? Like, every how many boots?

I can tell you this much, if you have an issue that happens after power-on, and that can be fixed by temporarily removing power from the PSU and then trying again, the first thing you want to test is indeed that PSU. So test with a known good or new PSU, i wrote a Guide: How to find a good PSU.

Hello. Thanks for the response.

The problem occurs rarely. I faced it maybe 3 or 4 times when I was using integrated gpu and I've faced this once with the dedicated gpu. I've already set the vga option to PEG in bios. But still the problem occured. I would also like to mention that when I was getting this issue with the igpu, I've enabled the msi fast boot option in which I've not faced this issue ever since. Then upgraded to the dgpu and got this problem only once.

I also don't have a spare psu so can't test it that way. I might enable msi fast boot again to see if this issue persists.

Hello, I am having the same issue with PRO Z690-A DDR4 , that is, `my PC works fine but sometimes when I start my PC, the mobo stucks on the VGA led. The only way I can fix this issue is to turn off the PC from the mains and then start it and it works fine. This issue happened to me a number of times when I was using integrated graphics [i5 12600k]. My bios is updated to the latest one .` I have tested my system with another PSU and the problem persist. I am certain that it is related to the motherboard, but what is causing it? a faulty motherboard or settings in bios needed to be adjusted?

I'm sorry that you're also facing this issue. That seems like it's an issue with msi boards. I've searched online and found some other people also got this issue with other msi boards in reddit and youtube. But no solutions.

This issue was more noticeable when I was using integrated gpu but less so with a dedicated gpu. However I got this issue with dedicated too before posting (but that happened only once with dgpu). I still don't know why the mobo fails/stuck to detect the gpu. Also Fast boot was On by default too.

The only way I sorta got past this issue (when using igpu) was by using msi fast boot, which seems like to get past the vga test during post. But using msi fast boot was also annoying as I can't go to the bios during post.
