Hello everyone,

I am facing a persistent boot issue after updating the BIOS on my MSI PRO B660M-B DDR4 motherboard. After a successful BIOS update, the PC restarts but gets permanently stuck on the MSI Logo screen.

My Setup:
Motherboard:
MSI PRO B660M-B DDR4
CPU: Intel Core i5-12500F
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
RAM: 16GB DDR4
OS: Windows 11

Troubleshooting already performed:
CMOS Reset:
Performed via JBAT1 jumper and battery removal. No change.
Minimal Boot: Removed M.2 SSD and all peripherals. Still hangs at the logo.
GPU Swap (The Discovery): When I swap the RX 5500 XT for a different graphics card, the system boots perfectly and I can enter the BIOS. When I put the 5500 XT back in, the hang returns.
Display: Tested with both HDMI and DisplayPort; same result.

This reminds me a bit of this thread from a couple days ago. There, the user has a 5600 XT, and he cannot boot if Secure Boot is enabled. Presumably, the board/BIOS might enforce something regarding Secure Boot which these particular graphics card series' firmware cannot quite comply with. Hence it working with another graphics card (which one?).

As the first test, try to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS, and see if it boots like that with the 5500 XT. If it does, then you probably need to update the 5500 XT's firmware, see solution 2) from here. Or you could leave Secure Boot disabled.

which exact VGA works fine for you?
are you using this bios 7D45v1P? Did you also update to the latest ME FW?

I have disabled the secure boot but does not fix. I'm using NVIDIA 730 GT

The latest 7D45v1P update is a multiple one: GOP, Microcode and ME.

With a note that all of those are related to Intel only.
Etc. the GOP mentioned in there is related to the onboard/integrated iGPU only.
It do not affect how the external graphics will works.

No, I did not update the ME Firmware. Do I have to install it separately?

Depends how you flashed the BIOS,
if you flashed the BIOS with >>Forum UEFI Shell Flash Tool<<
then it will flash automatically both BIOS & ME-FW at once.
So no need extra flashing in such cases.

If you used M-Flash to flash it,
then yes you need to update ME-FW separately.

yes, ME Firmware need to updated separately. try to check the ME Firmware update SOP
- ME Firmware update SOP

Or you can also also use >>Forum UEFI Shell Flash Tool<< to flash the ME-FW Only,
By loading the BIOS on the tool 7D45v1P,
then select from Options [Skip BIOS Flashing]
