Just picked up this M/B roughly a month ago and suddenly stumbled across the fact that the 13th gen processor I had purchased for it appears to show it is an i7-13700 ( in my dreams..) instead of the i3-13100 that I actually bought... I also saw on the support pages that there was a BIOS update release a couple of weeks ago (04/09/26) that purportedly included microcode updates - which I always thought WAS to accommodate "newer processors ", so I flashed it to the latest release and it STILL shows an i7!
NOT that I terribly mind the incorrect identification for sure.. I'd LOVE an i7 like that but this is only for use as an inexpensive little "peer-server" which really does not require something like an i7 chip.
Now, on another point: this is not the first time I've seen this to be the case on yet another inexpensive little uATX MSI M/B (Pro 610M) which I built for similar uses which also misidentified THAT 12th gen processor (i3-12100) as an i7.. HUH? Uh... Hello..?? It's either misidentifying microcodes - or I got TWO back-to-back very cheap i7's sold as i3's.. (Yeah that's gonna happen)
Although.. this IS a blazin' fast i3, I gotta say.
Any clues here, folks...?
(I mistakenly posted this on the newer platforms forum - my bad... Didn't realize this was considered an 'older' M/B by today's standards, I guess..)
