Hi all!
Since latest BIOS update (AMI BIOS 7D48vAN 2026-04-23) https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-H610M-E-DDR4/support
USB Devices not showing after turning on PC, but showing after reinserting.
I have an Intel i5 12400, and with high performance power plan, the frequency not even reaching base speed (2.50 Ghz)...
Specs:
Windows 10 22H2 updated
MSI PRO H610M-E DDR4
Core i5 12400

32 GB ram ddr4 2666

MSI GeForce RTX™ 3050 VENTUS 2X XS 8G OC

All drivers updated from here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-H610M-E-DDR4/support#driver

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance

PS: Sorry for my English, i'm Portuguese.

Nowadays you 100% want to use Windows 11.

Never use anything but the Balanced power plan. Where are you checking the CPU speed? Don't tell me in task manager? It's useless for that.

Hi, does windows 11 have better support (drivers, functions, features, etc.), than windows 10?
Is it better for MSI PRO H610M-E DDR4 ?
I was checking task manager, wrong values... Then i used cpu-z and the frequencies were accurate (all cores around 4.00 Ghz) with high performance plan.

Thanks for the reply!

For sure. As I mention here, 12th/13th/14th gen CPUs have P-cores and E-cores, and Win11 has improved thread scheduling to put workloads on the proper cores, so certain workloads don't accidentally get stuck on an E-core. And about the drivers, regarding network solutions for example, the latest of them only work in Win11, because that implemented the NetAdapterCx driver model for better performance and lower latency, while Win10 is stuck on the older NDIS driver model. So for example, boards that have a WiFi 7 chip, that chip doen't work in Win10, as they only make drivers in the NetAdapterCx driver model for it, which only install under Win11.

With the two free tools linked here, you can make Win11 look like any Windows, I made it look and feel like Win10. Windows 10 support ended in October 2025. Even if you subscribed to Extended Support in the EU (another year), the countdown is ticking, and for any modern system, Win11 is just better, as flawed as it may be. There is no excuse to still keep using Win10.

Yes, as I said, task manager is useless. It takes the E-cores into account and it calculates it weirdly. If you really want to see what is going on, use HWinfo Sensors.

High Performance power plan mostly just needlessly drives up power consumption in idle, by keeping all the cores from entering lower power states and keeping them at high alert. In a way, it makes a modern CPU become as dumb as a Pentium 4 again. It can have its uses, for example for a server, or when there's otherwise problems from the CPU using its power-saving mechanisms and not coming out of them fast enough. But for most normal usage, like gaming, it will not make a difference, because once there is enough load, the CPU cores will wake up anyway. But the time where there is no load, it's better to let the cores go to sleep more, so you are not burning dozens of Watts in idle for nothing.

Just one more thing:
I have updated the BIOS (AMI BIOS 7D48vAN 2026-04-23) https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-H610M-E-DDR4/support
When a BIOS is updated, all settings are reset to default right?
Then, the only thing i disable is the iGPU, don't use.
Several issues i have like, pc won't wake up from sleep with mouse or keyboard, some USB devices not showing (only after reinserting), is Windows 10 the cause of this?!

Yes. Sometimes the fan settings are kept, but that's it.

Then, the only thing i disable is the iGPU, don't use.

I would also enable XMP for the RAM, so it runs at the proper speed. Unless you really have some older RAM with DDR4-2666 as the correct speed.
I also do some other settings like disabling both Fast Boot settings (they don't do much and can cause problems).

It's possible. If you have a spare SSD (can even be some old 128 GB one), do a fresh install of Win11 to it as a test. Then install the drivers and check how things work there. But generally, I would say, just do the upgrade to Win11, it's no use speculating if you can simply test it. Also there, the cleanest way would be to back up your data and do a fresh install. But if it's too much work, do an upgrade install while keeping all your files.

Hi!
I'm made a clean Windows 11 installation, and it's fine.
The issues that i mentioned before are still present, and the real problem is BIOS settings.
It's really confusion all that stuff...
After some search, i had to change Resume by USB Device to enabled, to wake pc from sleep with mouse or keyboard.
XMP not available, because my RAM (32gb ddr4 - 2666) is not supported.
To be honest, i don´t like to change or mess around with BIOS.
In this case, it's mandatory to go to BIOS to change something, as issues appears.
We should be able to save bios settings, in case future updates resets it all...
Well, got to live with this, that makes my brain sick...

Thanks for all the help @citay ! 👍

Good job. Don't worry about changing things in the BIOS. The defaults are sometimes not ideal, they have to make it as compatible as they can, but compatible doesn't always mean best. For example, if you don't use standby/sleep mode (like me), then you would set "ErP Ready" to Enabled, and leave all "Resume by..." disabled. For you it would be different, since you use sleep mode.

If you research properly what a setting does, or ask here, then it's not much different from a setting in Windows. You can mess things up with both, or you can do something useful with both. Write down which settings you changed, then you know what to enter later if you update the BIOS again. They cannot reliably save all BIOS setting changes to a profile, because sometimes they add, rename or remove settings between versions.

vAO1, so it's a beta version (otherwise it would be vAO only). If you don't have any trouble with your 3050, then you can skip this one.
No problems with the GPU, but... BETA?! WTF?!
At least they should mentioned in the description.
If there are issues, no way to roll back right?
I was just about to update, before posting here.
I don't like any kind of betas, previews, etc.. (Software, apps, not even windows)
Thanks a lot @citay ! 👍

If you know MSI BIOS version naming, you will know. Look at bit further in the BIOS list, for "7D48vAI2(Beta version)", there they mentioned it. As soon as there is a third number (that's above 0), then it's a beta version. For the third number being 0, they leave it out on the website (like vAN, which could be called vAN0). Then once it's a 1, 2, 3 etc., you know it's a beta.

I think the IOMMU setting is again for better compatibility with some graphics cards. However, usually there are also other changes which they don't list (otherwise the lists would be long and full of minor changes). It doesn't seem like too important of an update, but personally, I like to keep my BIOS up-to-date with new stable releases. Of course, I tend to check on the forums first, if any problems are being reported with it (most other board models of a chipset get the same BIOS update within a similar time frame).
