MSi Pro MP272L Monitor - Screen Going Blank When Using DisplayPort Connection

Hi All,
I have an MSi Pro MP272L monitor which I have owned from new, It has a HDMi input and also a DisplayPort input but MSi B850 Gaming PLUS WIFI Motherboard only has a DisplayPort so I use a standard DisplayPort cable for it and it works well.

However, when I go to plug a USB device into the motherboard, the monitor will go blank for 2 or 3 seconds and then come back on.

I have tried 3 different DisplayPort cables and the problem is still there.

If I use an adaptor which converts the DisplayPort on the motherboard to a HDMi port and plug a HDMi cable into that and then into the monitor - the problem is not there, so it only seems to happen when using a the monitors DisplayPort.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Is the monitor connected to CPU onboard graphics? Could you specify the CPU model name?
Please set below settings in monitor's OSD menu via monitor's navi key to check:
1. Settings-"Power Button" option to "Standby"
2. Input Source-"Auto Scan" option to "OFF"

Thanks for the suggestion @zerijelly, have just tried it but unfortunately the screen still goes blank when connecting the printer.

I have also just tried a cable that converts DP to HDMi rather than an adaptor and that plugs into the HDMi port on the monitor - but the issue also happens using that.

Last week I removed the motherboard and tested it on a bit of cardboard to try and rule out a possible ground/earth issue but the issue was still there.

My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 which has integrated Radeon Graphics

Quick update to this thread - I purchased a DP to DVi conversion cable today, connected my old DVi monitor to the PC and the same problem occurs, so this is not a problem with the MSi Pro MP272L monitor.
