Hi Everyone.

I bought a MSI PX60 6QE 2 or 3 months back with Win 10 OS, it had been working perfectly till the last few days. I have a few issues, these are:

1. Laptop sometimes shuts down in sleep, but powers up like waking up - is this a feature? Happens all the time, not really annoying, just a qs.

2. Laptop takes a long time to wake up from sleep if sleep time is more than 4 or 5 hours. After waking from sleep the Win 10 icons and fonts are all smaller than usual and the function key related commands and the start icon and Win 10 commands don't work. I restart every time to make this issue go away but it is annoying.

3. Today laptop didn't turn on screen when powering up from shut down like the issue in 1. I had the laptop go into sleep last night, woke up to power it up and screen just didn't respond, no msi logo, nothing, the keyboard lights up, the capslock and numlock work but nothing else. Had to turn it off and on multiple times when it finally started responding like normal, battery fully charged, everything normal, boot to login screen in like 15 seconds maybe less. Is this a BIOS issue? I turned off fastboot in BIOS a few days back to see if it had effect on issue 2 but it still persists, did this do something to cause issue 3?

I feel the first issue is a feature but the next 2 are definitely bugs of some kind, I need some help solving this, this is a really good laptop and really don't want to exchange or buy new one as this is practically brand new.

Thanks.

To download/update BIOS and EC firmware from following link.
http://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/PX60-6QE.html#down-bios

Second, using [DDU] to remove the Nvidia driver.
http://www.msi.com/faq/notebook-2110
Then, remove the Intel VGA.

After that, you could download/install Intel and Nvidia VGA drivers from same website.

Besides, I would suggest exporting system info by latest Help Desk and post them in here. Maybe someone could help check the software environment.

Thanks for replying.

I have updated the BIOS and EC and also windows till the latest version.
The issue still persists. I tried logging in by the usual method, pressing enter and then entering password and pressing enter again and it seemed to log in to Windows. Also if I try pressing delete at startup it acts like it has gone into BIOS but the screen doesn't show anything. It looks like a screen related issue. Now I don't know how to proceed from here. I'll try on an external monitor later to see if it works.

Will uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers help? I can only do that if the screen works, right now it looks like the screen just goes dead if the laptop is shut down for 4 or 5 hours, so I just keep restarting the laptop hoping the screen works. Haven't any success today till now. :/

Thanks.

Hi,

I just did an EC reset and laptop booted up properly. There is a button beside the LAN port for it. Will see if this works. :)

Thanks.
