Bluetooth headset microphone not working properly. When I click to use the microphone in a game it mutes my sound.
Checked Sounds settings, under Recording, windows uses Hands-Free AG Audio when mic is on, and
when the mic is off it switches back to Stereo.

I tried plugging in wired headset that has a microphone and I still can't get the microphone to work with plugging the headset to the microphone input and losing the sound.
I open MSI Realtek Audio interface and it doesn't recognize the wired headsets or the bluetooth ones.
I check all the headsets on my laptop which runs Windows 10 and everything works properly there.

I built my PC using MSI B460M Mortar Wifi and made sure to install all drivers. Any suggestions on how to fix this ? should I reinstall the audio driver ?

Thanks

the current realtek audio driver version (v6.0.9013.1) appears to have some problems as some other MSI users using different MSI boards are having problems with the 9013 driver.

maybe wait until MSI releases a new realtek audio driver for the MSI B460M Mortar Wifi board as the 9013 version has some bugs.
in the meantime, uninstall current realtek driver, reboot and install an older version like 8955 from here.

Thanks man. I tried that and it didn't really help. Any other ideas ?

One other thing that can seem strange if your not used to it or
having trouble with audio, is to look at the communications settings to
see what action windows is taking when it detects communication activity.
(Games with built-in chat will trigger this mechanism.)

The default action is to reduce the audio output drastically, which depending,
might make the sound output seem muted.
