My new MSI Computer gave me a message saying I need to create a Bootable Emergency USB Drive. But it didn't give me any instructions on how to do so. Its supposed to be a drive that if I get a virus, or something, this USB Drive can boot the computer up, and restore it to factory settings just like I bought it...Does anyone know how to create this Emergency Restore drive? I have a Raider GE75. Any help appreciated. Thanks

1: Get a USB thumb Drive that is at least 16 GB in Size (recommended is 25GB+)
2: open either MSI Dragon Center or MSI Center whichever one was Installed on your Machine
3: now time to make the drive and depending which of the 2 depends where you go to make it
Dragon Center: go to tools on the left side and then click on Backup and follow the on screen prompt to make the Recovery Media
MSI Center: go to Support at the top and click on MSI Recovery and follow the on screen Prompt to make the Recovery Media

Thank you very much Badboy. This is my first MSI, and had no idea what the Dragon Center was for. Thanks.

your very welcome.

Dragon Center has a bunch of stuff it can do like Monitor your system Activity and the temperatures, monitor the Battery and sometimes control how it Charges and much more.

I see you left out send you bald as you pull your hair out

Hi, do you know long it should take to create the recovery boot disk? Mine has been on for nearly 24 hours now

yeah, shouldnt take more than a few hours, faster sticks will help.
What a marvelous profile photo. I love it!
I grew up watching the Muppets, and losing Jim Henson like that was just tragic.

@FlyingScot
thanks. yeah, same here.
was really fun the last couple of years playing siege pvp with friends, all using names from a muppet character.

What is the way to create a USB thumb Drive on a MSI GL72M 7RDX. The Dragon Center édition of this laptop did not include "Backup" option in the tools. I know it is not a new machine but it is in A1 condition and I want to reset it fo factory.

check the manual if there is a button to use on boot for recovery, otherwise you can go to settings, use the search and type reset, win will offer to reset windows wipe anything that didnt come with computer, so abckup your data.
to wipe/reformat the drive and true clean install, you can use the MS media tool to dl the iso and make a bootable thumb drive, but i would make sure you know the serial or at least have your MS account connected with it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but do you know if all the MSI drivers and apps will be included in the bootable thumb because they are not available anymore on their web site.

nothing except what windows has include.
you should be able to get drivers based on components like chipset (intel/amd) they should be newer as well.
if you cant figure out devices, use something like Aida64 to get detailed info, or a driver-updater tool can help, but ignore any drivers you dont need the tool to install,
especially sata/drive and some 3rd party chips can sometimes stop working properly, because the newest driver isnt for what you have, even if it matches by name.
