MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio - Linux Power-limit for mining

Hello,

I wonder if anyone else is experiencing problems with gaming x trio and PL settings in linux for ethash mining.
As soon as you use nvidia-oc for changing gpu or mem settings, the power limit drops to 209 so the hashrates are always poor.

Anyone also saw this happening?

I guess this question is better pointed at a mining focussed forum. Also I guess there are not many people around happy about mining usage of RTX 30. For most Gamers the worse mining works the better as many are trying to buy a graphics card

Well that's obviously off topic for this post, and I'm sad to see this from a Global Moderator.
This forum has several posts about mining setting on MSI motherboards, and huge mining combinations, and you're complaining with me about this card's VBIOS having a bug specificaly with nvidia-oc and nvidia-smi on latest drivers and linux?!
The point of me registering on this Forum and opening this topic was to help MSI fix bugs in it's product, no matter the purpose of use, it has a bug. One can buy a GPU for gaming and mine cryptocurrencies overnight. With specifically the Gaming X, the RTX3080 has a power issue. Potentialy, the same issue afects DVFS when gaming, even on Windows.

This is a community Forum not MIS support support is by People who want to try and help if possible or looking for help. And it sounds more like you have a NVIDIA driver problem. Perhaps Nvidia did more than just nerf the 3060 for mining with the new drivers.
