Hello Everyone I am new to the forum and looking for some help here. I consider myself a noobie builder so hoping for a bit of patience here.

I've just finished my computer and added some MSI goodies with one of my favourite parts being the 500x case. I was gaming this past week and noticed one of the 200mm fans up front at around 1500+ rpm makes an awful ticking noise. Under 900rpm it's silent. I did a google search and it says it could be a bearing issue (?) and recommendation is to add some lubricating oil. I really don't want to mess around with a brand new product.

The case and computer is less thans two weeks old and wondering if this could be a defective part or a faulty part? I triple checked the path of the fan and it's not hitting anything. Looking for experienced users here on I suppose "noisy fans at higher rpm".

Thank you very much

If the fan spins and just makes some noise it doesn't need to be a bad bearing. if it sounds too bad though you will have to rma the case to have the fan replaced (or you get an aftermarket fan)

Thank you for the response.

Is there anyway to check the specs of the 200mm minimum/maximum fans speed specs?

Got me thinking that maybe it's overworking itself? I noticed under load (gaming/video rendering) all the case fans are under 900 RPM, but the problematic 200mm fan speeds upwards of 1500rpm. In my BIOS settings (MSI MEG z490 ace) i have just toggled "smart fan mode" on.

I really know nothing about custom fan curves, fans etc as this is all new to me.

Switch both fans to 100% fan speed one after another and check if there is a dramatic difference
