MSI SSD slower than HDD

I recently bought a MSI spatium s270 480gb sata ssd but its seems its slower than my HDD.

Yes, that's normal. It has a very small SLC cache buffer (the part where the speeds are high at firs) tand no RAM cash buffer. Still it's gonna be way faster in reading (game loading etc.) than your hdd.

It all depends on kind of files you are moving, as well as their size.
As above, these drives have small cache (2GB DDR4), hence after hitting certain size it'll slow down.

As far as I know it only has about 7GB of SLC cache and no DDR memory for caching at all.

Possibly. I've found just 1 reference to this drive and it claimed to have 2GB of DDR4.

If that is true then that is the issue!. DRAMless ssd's, fast for normal things but a nightmare when you use it heavy. This is the reason why i have not yet bought the Lexar NM790 4TB nvme drive. It does not have dram too, speeds are good but it does have it's issues. I am saving money for 2x 4TB Samsung 990 pro's
