Hi all,

I have the summit E16 FLIP with the Nvidea RTX 3050.
I use it frequently to go to customers and show them some rendered 3D models and make some small adjustments at the spot.
Since the fans are right in front of the display ( big mistake ) i often have the problem that the screen gets overheated and no longer work properly when I'm showing 3D models.
I contacted MSI Belgium/Europe but 2 months later and no reply.

When I have the possibility I flip the screen and work with an extra keyboard to overcome screen is getting all the fan heat. But this is not a long term solution
Does any of you are facing the same problem?

Regards,
Sharon

Sharon: I have a Summit E16Flop A11UCT with same Nvidia graphics card and having extreme heating issues with my when attempting to do facility walk-downs to mark-up as-built drawings. This is what I purchased this high-end tablet for but unfortunately, it's been over 4 months since I requested advice from MSI tech support and no response. Very frustrating. Best Regards, Mike Maurer

Hi Maurer,

We have the exact same device with same problems.
The device works normal for administrative tasks e.g. Office or webbrowser, but that's not why we bought this device...

MSI has been interacting with me for the last 2 months with the following "solution":
  • - 1st mail from MSI: I had to download a program HWinfo, run it on temperature control and then deliver the info to them.
    • - 2nd mail from MSI: I had to update the BIOS.
    • - 3rd mail from MSI: a clean installation of the drivers of both graphic cards. Since then I also have screen flickering which according to MSI is due to external monitors that I connect 🤔
    • - 4th mail from MSI: we don't see a problem, if the temperature becomes too high we recommend to change the user profile in MSI center to advanced and to work with the coolerboost. This means that I have to start working with the coolerboost almost every day...., this makes a hell of a noise and it's not pleasant to work like this.
    • 5th mail from MSI: We noticed that you left a one-star satisfaction regarding the recent ticket. We are sorry and hope to help you clarify the situation with your laptop again. Please update the drivers... here we go again...
Solution = sorry, we made a design mistake and we are not able to help you. Please use your device in a way that is not userfriendly.

Worst support I ever received, and this for a device of more then 2K.
