So, I've recently got this beautiful beast, and I'm loving it. But I'm pretty confused how do the fan curve work, most of the times it will stick to 30% and not go to 0%, even during IDLE. Once I start the PC the fans start at 0% but once they kick in they never go back to 0%. no matter the temperature, I've updated my VBIOS through dragon center, dunno what else to do.

Please help!

This is likely a genuine issue with 4.6.3 Afterburner and/or the 30 series.
Personally, having set an aggressive fan curve and "override with hardware curve if 0" checkbox selected, I can get the fans to go from 30% to 0 by disabling and re-enabling the custom curve (if the temperature is low enough), but, as you have noticed, once the fans activate under load, they will just not return to 0.

so they never go back to 0% once they activate yea? I had an rtx 3070 and it didn't have such issues back in december. So it's probably with afterburner I guess

I do have the latest driver, anyway I don't want to make a curve my own, but I thought by default the card should stop itself below certain temperatures, no?

Yes, unless manual control is enabled in Afterburner. It does only work if fans are on auto.
