MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XW, audiodg.exe heap corruption crash, Intel? Nahimic? Intelligo?

Guys guys, I think I've fixed it for real! I will share what I did:

Uninstall Nahimic
Uninstall Nahimic Companion
Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove Realtek audio drivers, remove Realtek/Nahimic/IntelliGo components from Device manager
(In DDU options: block driver installation from Windows Update during cleanup.)

Use Snappy Driver Installer Origin (SDIO) to install:
  • Realtek HDA/UAD driver
  • Realtek Audio Universal Service
  • Nahimic / IntelliGo Software Components
Let SDIO handle dependencies until it reports all audio devices satisfied.

Re-enable Windows Update

Windows will install two extra audio components (instead of 10+ if left on auto-update).

Reinstall Nahimic (Microsoft Store)
(Always reboot when prompted.)

I don't think it's about uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, it's about landing this combination of versions:
ComponentProviderVersionDate
Realtek High Definition AudioRealtek Semiconductor Corp.6.0.9857.12025-01-07
Realtek Audio Universal ServiceRealtek1.0.860.02025-10-06

Nahimic Easy Surround deviceNahimic2.0.4.02024-05-14
Nahimic Mirroring Component DeviceNahimic2.0.5.02024-08-25
IntelliGo Audio Service ComponentIntelliGo100.1.4.24072025-06-24
Intel® SST Audio driversIntel Corp.20.40.12248.02025-01-07

It's been more than 1 day, and I've been doing all kinds of things, audiodg.exe hasn't crashed once! Try above, it might help.
Some of these drivers aren't the ones available on the website listed as "latest versions", for example:

Realtek High Definition Audio, on the website it says"6.0.9802.1" , but u mentioned "6.0.9857.1" which seems to be a newer version, not available on the website.
IntelliGo Audio Service Component on the website it says "100.1.4.2243" but u mentioned, "100.1.4.2407" which seems to be a newer version, not available on the website
Intel® SST Audio drivers on the website "20.40.11684.4" but u mentioned "20.40.12248.0" which seems to be a newer version, not available on the website

For reference, i am checking through this link

So this points again that most likely the issue here is driver related and MSi still hasn't taken any action or updated them, they just keep fuckin pushing BIOS updates and refuse to address the real issue here which are the DRIVERSSSS.

This is genuinely so frustrating, I opened multiple support tickets and it's even worse than speaking to an AI chatbot, they just keep repeating the same exact steps and asking me to uninstall/reinstall drivers or even factory reset the device even tho i had confirmed that i had done it all already.

Bro i am a system admin, most people commenting and trying to share their findings here are obviously very technically knowledgeable, now imagine the experience of an "average" person having to deal with this bullshitt, my god dude what a horrendous support team.

@diesel_lover6204 please keep testing it longer and let us know how it goes, if it works i guess we will have to do it all manually until MSi takes any sensible action. thanks a lot for sharing this.

YES! That's the point, the MSI and Windows update versions are not good, we need to manually fetch newer versions via third party channels.
There are many ways but I recommend two:
1. station drivers, for example you can get the latest realtek UAD drivers here: station-drivers, as you can see the version there is even newer than mine;
2. SDIO, which is the software I mentioned above.

I guess the newer drivers fixed the bug, and MSI just hadn't updated their database yet (which is causing real trouble by the way)

At least for me, it's really fixed. The crashing is decisively gone, audio has been rock solid since.

Hello,
Is this 100% tried and working without any crashes?
I still have the problem and I really need solution.
Thank you.

Can’t speak for anyone else, but for me it’s 100% solved (more than 1 week and 0 crashes). If you followed my process and still have issues we are having different problems…

For anyone still experiencing the issue:
I reinstalled Windows many times using different drivers, but nothing helped. So I decided to download all the drivers again from the MSI website and reinstall them on a fresh, clean install of Windows 11 25H2—and it worked for me. No more glitching sound. It seems like they may have updated the drivers without changing the release date, or the previous drivers had issues that they’ve now fixed and reuploaded.
Let me know if this resolves the sound issue for you!

It is very annoying.. and I was not able to fix it months already :/ what a shame MSI

I installed Process Lasso and set the CPU affinity for audiodg.exe to only core 23 and the crash is gone.
i will keep the process lasso at that moment until MSI fixed it lol

I updated to intelliGo - AudioProcessingObject - version 100.1.4.2407 and haven't experienced any crashes for 3 days. I hope it continues like this.
